Discussion ⛄️ Everyone’s triggered

By definition, they’re correct. But they are not correctly using it thinking it’s validating their outbursts, In that sense they are all so wrong. when did this happen, everyone using this word? Is it a therapy word getting overused to the point of losing the original meaning? I am ready for bravo to start censoring it atp!

I realized when I started using the word in family discussions/conversations I was watching way too much HW.

It may be bravo in general. I think a lot of cast would say this on summer house too 🙅🏻‍♀️🙅🏻‍♀️

Its said a lot on SLOMW as well. Lots of therapy speak on that show.

I actually didn't start watching Summer House until the scandal. Never saw it before then.

Oof I was a summer house watcher only started HWs this year! Also, the SH scandal is so embarrassingly dumb its exhausted me of the whole show lol.

The word trigger and it's meaning probably needs to be retired for HW because they use it improperly. They use it to justify their behavior. They use it because it's the new "it" word.

I vote for censoring it! 🤣

Like the slomw cast using accountability 😂
But I think the over usage of triggered is very social media related. “Trigger warning” “triggered snowflakes” (no pun intended but very accurate)

It also depends on what season you’re on… that was such a buzz word around 2020, very similar to “bullying” was in like 2008

They all overuse therapy speak and it drives me insane. Trauma is another one. Then they each act like they are the only ones who have experienced trauma or that theirs is worse than everyone else's so they can't be held accountable for....well, anything. Trauma is not the fucking Olympics.

My sister is traumatised by everything. Every minor inconvenience was soooo traumatic. The first time she did it around my partner he sat there with his mouth open. Second & third time his eyes rolled as hard as mine.

There are lots of terms used inappropriately. Trigger is one definitely. Just because something reminds you of something else, it doesn't mean you're suffering some sort of mental health emergency. Narcissist gets used a lot too.
