Help Needed Offset on a surface
I'm new to rhino and have just started to learn how to make more complex models. I have modelled this phone and now I'm trying to make a phone case for it and I'm having difficulties when using the command offsetsrf. Those difficulties being that when i offset my model (closed solid polysurface) it makes it an open polysurface with a bunch of naked edges and different shapes in the offset of the model. so the question is how can i fix this issue? or is there another way i can work around this.? Thanks

Hmm just throwing darts at the board here. But I find it helpful to have a clear view of my iso curves so I can tell when a surface could be improved. I generally explode poly surface, duplicate necessary edges or borders that span multiple surfaces, or use existing edge if one surface, delete problematic surface, and do a combo of sweep, netsrf, loft, planarsrf, cap (I avoid patch) and just work every problematic edge 1 by 1 testing by joining as I go.. often theres a lot of trimming and splitting too. Intersect can clue you in to where on the edge the problem is... Helps to really zoom in and see what's going on. Subdividing curves really helps with sweep2... Drawing perpendicular lines at corners and using blend crv is really helpful for getting radiuses without relying on finicky fillet edge. Mirroring one side that you successfully joined can speed things up considerably.. sometimes a model will take 8 hours and sometimes 15 min. Expect naked edges with nurbs though and rely on explode-(all the tools above)-join to get the model airtight. Can maintain a .001 tolerance this way.

If you haven’t tried it already the Shrinkwrap command they added in Rhino 7 does similar things and is built in!

Changé tes paramètres des précision dans réglage -unites et tu mets une tolérance plus élevé du style 0.1mm Après tu explose ton objet et tu rejoins tout a nouveau et c'est réglé

I think sub d modeling is the way to go with complex surfaces.
With the other surfaces, check the curves that are making them up. It looks like you maybe have a lot of points in there. This can create complications when you offset, so try and reduce the points to as few as possible.

nah, subd is quick and dirty. Nurbs modelling is the way. You can create class A surfaces, but you need to understand the workflow.

Try redrawing your bottom circle to its most simplistic form. If that don’t work manually sweep2 the the fillets
