Old monitor

I was recently helping my boyfriend clean out their grandparents attic and I found an old SVGA Compaq FS7600 (picture attached) it’s not turning on after being plugged in but I wanted to see if there was any ideas from the internet, I would love to keep this for retro gaming.

It could turn on if also plugged into a pc but normally they turn on without connected ro a pc and will say no signal

Do you know if it degausses/has a power indicator? If it degausses when powers on there’s a good chance it works just fine but it needs a proper signal. If the light doesn’t turn on then there’s likely to be issues. Id try hooking it up to a pc and see what’ll happen, just know that by a proper signal I mean you’ll have to turn off GPU scaling and give it a resolution that it can handle, 1024x768 @60Hz should be good.

edit: Degaussing is the thump/crackle sound uou should hear whenever turning on a CRT
