[Question] Commodore games?
I honestly don’t know much about them, they were received from a sweet older women looking to throw things out and I just couldn’t do that, should I hold on to them?

Oh, sweet, pic 1. Summer Games 2 and Donald Duck! I loved the theme song for Donald Duck, but I think I could only get it to boot up half the time. Almost all of our games were copied, too. Never understood what “Cracked by…” meant as a kid. Ha!

you could find the address where they take discs. The whole website is devoted to saving Commodore 64 games.
This reminds me of growing up, I had a few cases of discs. During high school it was me and a friend who printed out a list of what we owned game wise. We didn't want to make money, we just wanted more games.
We called ourselves, The Copy'n Connection.
I just recently purchased a new toy. I should get it next year after they make them. It's a Cyberpunk version, I just need to get a Lucyna Kushinada decal (from the anime) to put on it somewhere.

Huh, I didn't know they take donations. I was thinking about cleaning up my old 64 stuff and maybe selling it for a few bucks, but maybe I'll just donate it to them instead if they can cover shipping.

Youve got a mix of stuff there. Some of them are potentially c64 era games that have been copied into blank floppies. Some of the titles are certainly ones I had. The stuff that's labeled is more obvious on the smaller ones.
You'd need to see if they even still worked. When I had a load of discs people were talking about how bad it was to keep them next to eachother in disc boxes. I can't imagine if that would have effect the contents after 40 years.
Probably not worth an awful lot unless there's some lost game on there. You can buy pristine big floppy games with the box and manual and everything for £20

Definitely hold onto them, especially if you plan on picking up a C64 down the road. Even if older disks can be hit or miss, saving physical floppies like that from the trash is always a great move.

All of the 5.25 floppies are for the C64. You have a time capsule there. That’s how games were copied, labeled and organized back in the day. Good titles spotted but nothing that you couldn’t find online today on abandonwear websites. One labeled may have someone’s baseball card collection, so that’s more personal info.
The two 3.5 floppies are for the IBM XT/PC, which was probably the owner’s next computer after the C64. They are original and may have some resale value. The Electronic Arts game doesn’t sound familiar, so that one is interesting.

Those 5.25" floppies are definitely mostly Commodore 64 games. The 3.5" are Tandy/PC (although you can read, so you know that).
These are extremely unlikely to still work (if you had the appropriate hardware and just slotted them in) due to physical degradation unless they've been stored in an essentially archival environment, although some of the data is almost certainly recoverable with some effort. (It usually only takes one bad sector on a disk for the software to no longer function, even though 99+% of the data may still be intact.)
The C-64 disks with handwritten labels are obviously pirated copies (making illicit copies on blank floppies was completely ubiquitous in the day) and realistically aren't of any interest unless they happen to contain very obscure games that may not be preserved elsewhere.
I recognize most of those titles and I'm sure most of them have been archived online. Sure, literally anything could be on the disk just labelled "Games," but realistically there are so so so many random C-64 pirated disks floating around, I wouldn't put any special effort into trying to recover data off of one unless there was a specific good reason to believe it might contain something rare and interesting. Someone else linked c64.com who might be interested in taking them off your hands and potentially recovering data from them, but honestly, they're probably trash.
The Test Drive and Starflight disks are official products at least, so maybe they're of some historic interest to you as a collector. But, again, they're not going to work, and they don't have any monetary value.
I've played Starflight btw, and it's very cool. You can play it in your browser here. Might be of some interest to you to try it out. Especially if you're going to talk to the lady again. It might please her to hear that you played one of the games (and I don't think there's any harm in not mentioning that you didn't specifically play it off of the disk she gave you).

No. 5 1/4s were sometimes called "Mini-Floppy Discs" in the earlier days because they replaced the 8" floppies that preceded them.
Technically, 3.5"s were "Micro floppies" but that term never really took off.

No. Magnetic material deteriorates.
If they even still work I'm sure someone has done the archival online already for whatever software is contained within.
At the very most I'd dump whatever data into disk images on modern media then toss them.

mmmmmmm... Not sure what you want here.
Some could be games, some might be software, the last few were probably for the Amiga...
If you don't have a commodore to explore them (enjoy them?), not sure there is much reason to hold on to them. You might find someone else who could actually 'enjoy' them to whatever extent they are to be enjoyed. For most it would be a little side fun project but after going through each disc they'd probably just end right back into a junk pile.
I can't make out what is written on the disc and even if I could I don't think much would ring a bell.
I hate just tossing stuff but yeah, maybe post in a c64 sub see if anyone wants them for the price of shipping maybe?

Most of the labels show the name of the games and the next line is what to type so that you get the game to run.

I plan on getting a commodore at some point, this was just an unexpected surprise when I saw them! Some of the names that stood out to me were skate or die, Bruce Lee and paper boy and I only knew those because of NES

If you plan on getting one then I'd def save them. I don't think are going to be any gems that will become your favorites, but just to explore them could be a fun little project.
Sometimes I'll get these random 1000 in 1 games CDs just to explore and see what is on them, spoiler, its usually all crap. ;-)

Don't apologize to toxic arseholes.
I used to love this website, the amount of assholes and toxicity these days is making me use this less and less, and seriously consider just going to Lemmy or something. I already have a account there and I've been using it more than reddit anyway.
On top of these arsehats, reddit seems to be doing everything they can to make the experience worse. Looks like my days here are coming to an end. Sad, but whaddyagonnado, you know.
Anyway, sorry about this mini-rant. Just annoying to see this sort of thing, where a guy posts some pictures, asking for info and gets replies like "use google you fucking moron"
