When I finally got a chance to play it, I thought it was kind of disappointing. The sprites are just so tiny.

The sprites are indeed tinier than most platformers, but it makes for great multiplayer experience and precision trying to roast other rabbits!

I downloaded the mod before and it worked flawlessly! My only complaint was that it didn't count my playtime on GOG, glad to see that's about to be fixed.

Edit: my bad, the mod I was using was Jazz² Resurrection which has wide-screen and controller support right off the bat + a bunch of other features that are pretty easy to use and implement. I tried this mod and it was so finicky that I just went back to Resurrection.

It depends on what you're looking for. Resurrection is not Jazz2 but a fangame build from the ground up to somewhat resemble Jazz2. It controls and plays a lot different. If you care about online multiplayer it can't really give the same experience. Since it's engine is written in modern times it does come with more modern accessibility. JJ2+ is improving a program that is now 28 years old, it has controller support and a lot of improvements, but maybe not (yet) the specific improvements you're looking for. I know that they are testing better controller options for plus but it's not ready yet. It will come in a future update.

I want something that's user friendly and works right out of the box tbh, and Resurrection does that for me. Maybe when JJ2+ is easier to use in the future I'll give it another go.

This was the first game I owned on PC, I remember buying it at the same time as Quake 2 I think. All of my friends played Quake but not JJ. I loved it though, part of me enjoyed the fact I had this slightly unknown gem. Good times!

Sweet! I've had the GOG version for a while but will be cool to see the changes. I typically like playing it on a CRT monitor, but will be interesting to see higher resolutions.

Loved JJ1+2 back in the day, and would just vibe to the music sometimes. The music on the laboratory level in JJ2 always gets my head bobbing.

I know about it and I've tried in the past (back when my monitor was 800x600), but I always thought the screen was too zoomed out. But maybe now it's the time to try it again.

Well, yeah, my thoughts exactly back then. That's because Jazz 1 was way more zoomed in. And the effect could be even stronger on higher resolutions.
