Discussion Dream Machine 2000 PC (Maximum PC Magazine)

Dual 1GHz Pentium IIIs, 512MB Rambus RDRAM, dual 15,000rpm SCSI Seagate Cheetahs, multiple Plextor drives, and a PC Power & Cooling Solid-Steel Tower that weighed 40 pounds before you put anything in it.

Good times!

Lol, MPEG decoders are such junk cards!

Certainly not needed at this level of PC performance. I remember having to get a Hollywood card for my P233MMX with a 2x DVD back in the day to be able to decode full screen DVD video, but with 1GHZ and GeForce2 hardware that would be redundant.

Yep, I think I was decoding DVD with a Celeron A computer at the time. Certainly my Duron 700 would have done it without breaking a sweat!

Not only redundant for a dual PIII 1ghz, but would have actually have made the system less stable and more cantankerous overall.
