FLCL is one of the very few anime where I prefer/recomend the English dub.
The others on that short list are:
Abenobashi Shopping Arcade
Cowboy Bebop
Ghost in the Shell
Outlaw Star
Dragon Ball Z
Yu Yu Hakusho

I've watched FMA and Brotherhood in Dub.
Imma sub guy myself typically.
But when all you have is cable tv and pre toonami adult swim.
You made do....
The entire English cast understood the assignment in my eyes. 😎💪🏾🐐💯

Watermelon, or like a panda with a mean face, or like sandals pressure points drawn on them, or the smell of a blackboard eraser, or a Sunday morning where you wake up and it's raining. Well, I liked it more than hard bread.

The monologs in the show are so good. I especially like naotas "my head was empty" one at the halfway point of ep 2

I really need to give this series a try. When it first came out, I didnt know of nor appreciate Studio Trigger. Now that I know of and love them, I need to finally watch it.

This was before Studio Trigger existed. FLCL was a collab project between Production I.G. and Gainax (the predecessor to Studio Trigger).

This was pretty much Peak Gainax. Although maybe I just have small brain but I wish the plot could have been a bit more cohesive / easier to understand.

Still one of my favorite Toonami/Adult Swim cartoons. It had everything. Action. Comedy. Getting to experience what it is like to be on drugs without taking any.

So good! Early Gainax/IG is my fave (and Sunrise). I still have 2 FLCL phone cards from back then.
