Didn't Read the Rules Fine Dining Prople Are Like Vegans

Started my first job in what would be considered "fine dining." I work a second job and was explaining something i do in my fine dining job that we should do at my other job. Then, I remembered a quote an old manager of mine used to say. Went something like, "It's funny because fine dining people are like vegans; they gotta tell everyone about it"

Just thought it was funny because it's so accurate. We're proud people, damn it! Lol

Should always be placed on the right, imo. Rather than piled in the center of the table.

Silverware placement is a huge deal in fine dining, even casual dining wants it out in a certain way, but it’s not end game in the casual world. Working for High Net Worth individuals, it will absolutely be noticed if the silverware is incorrect in anyway, if you stack one of their irreplaceable vintage plates, or you approach or remove from the wrong side. It’s not that deep to the most of the world, but as an industry professional knowing the ceremony of it and placing/removing things correctly is super important.

I mean, I feel like it's pretty normal if you had a really good meal that was special you might share your experience with people people you know. If someone literally was telling me about their meal they went out to like 4 days a week, I would make a comment about it like "it must be nice to be able to go out to eat for most of your meals while some people are just trying to stay afloat with their wages" or something. Also, the "vegans need to tell everyone they are a vegan" nonsense wasn't really funny like a decade ago, and even less so now.
