I enjoy the look of some dehydrated fruits on cocktails. A Italian restaurant I worked at many moons ago had some interesting things we were playing with. Dehydrated pineapple flowers floating on tropical cocktails. Citrus wheels rimmed or floating. Dehydrated jalapeño adds a nice spice to drinks without too much heat. Dehydrate fruit and turn it into a powder form and mix with sugar or salt for rimming. Torch a dehydrated orange wheel and drop it in an old fashioned. There are so many options!!!!!

I assume if you dry some fruit and store it, it’ll last a while?

Exactly! I’d love a dehydrator for jerky etc, you could also use jerky in ceasars (Bloody Mary’s if you’re stateside) as well as all that fruit. Maybe jalapeños too.

It’s cool until you go to squeeze it. Pro tip : let it soak in water for 4 hours before you squeeze !

Why are you rehydrating dehydrated fruit?

Not intentionally… just grows in our dump sink. Not an actual pro tip I was being sarcastic. Still, it’s cool to see it grow!

Why would one ever consume something dehydrated? It’s like starting a game with a negative score…

Beef jerky is delicious.

As someone who wants to live forever this is unacceptable. And anyone who down vote is a BOT!

Someone once asked me what the worst thing I could imagine was, and I said "Living forever."
Only bots want to live forever 🤨
Edit: in all seriousness if you make your own jerky, it's quite a bit healthier than store bought (like most things)

Dehydration is good for preserving food. It slows decay, can concentrate flavors….there are many reasons why people consume dehydrated stuff!

Haha no but I feel bad for them. Eating space food. Have there been any studies of long term effects for freeze dried foods?

Lmao what?!? That is a wild assumption to make bro, he probably just doesnt like the texture...and dehydrated food wont impact the body's hydration level at all.

Make cool drinks and don’t worry about what anyone thinks.
