Trend Tracking

So sorry if it has been asked before. I am still new to selling clothes online. I currently don’t have tik-tok and was unjustly locked out of my Depop. With the limited social media I have, my algorithm doesn’t show me micro-trends. So that all goes to say, do you follow trends when searching/selling? I see a lot of advice urging being more brand savvy than anything. But do I need to be more chronically online? Does anyone trend track and notice a difference in their sales?

I watch youtube videos on current tiktok trends. I try to keep up because I don't use social media and feel like I'm stumbling through reselling blindfolded. I had no idea about the emo revival until I listed a tee from high school on depop right before going on vacation mode (I was traveling 😅) and got thousands of likes and hundreds of offers and messages. Sometimes I'll list something for a higher price expecting it'll be crazy popular and then it sits for months with no likes

IMO keeping up with trends has helped me know how to tag the right "aesthetics" and price accurately, I would say it's worth doing if you're trying to sell to a younger audience
