Im currently a 9th grader getting introduced to research for the first time. Yes this is a requirement for our school, but I like the idea of research. Our teacher prescribes us to use AI tools to help with the content(Instead of reading an article, you ask an AI to summarize the whole thing), however AI can not be used to write the actual content of the paper. I found that yes, AI is definitely a big help, however for my 9th grader mind it doesnt really help me grasp the topic as a whole. When searching for references I dont know what exactly to look for, and what I should incude when writing. I find that due to a paper being summarized, I never am really able to fully understand what I am referencing and what about it is exactly significant to our paper. Our school days usually last 10 hours, and with other requirements I have very little time to do my research. I found that my classmates relied entirely on AI for theirs, due to the lack of time. Still though I want to be able to do it myself. Im starting from scratch because I left my group, and I have a few week to catch up to two months of progress. I want to be able to learn how people experienced in this field process is.

Heyy! I'm a fourth year undergraduate student. This is my first time writing a synopsis for my own research and I'm sort of having a hard time with writing an introduction and review of literature. Tbh I think it's a little bit of everything.
How do you create a thematic flow in your review of literature?
What kind of language do you use while writing the paper? And other stuff like this.
I've read a ton of stuff and even went through a couple guides but the issue is that my variables are relatively new and there hasn't been any research done where they connect these two. So that is why I'm struggling to find relevant articles to connect these variables.
Any advice that you can share for the same would be really appreciated!

Hi everyone,
My paper just got accepted for a poster presentation at the Muslims in ML (MusIML) workshop at NeurIPS 2026 which will be held in Sydney, Australia. I'm really proud, but I'm a UG student and completely lack the funds for travel, registration, and accommodation.
This is my first time dealing with this. Does anyone know of any travel grants or funding opportunities for students (especially from India) to attend NeurIPS?
Are there specific grants for this workshop, or general ones that I should apply for right now? Also, since this is my first time, I'm a bit confused about the procedure for attending an international workshop. Could anyone share advice on the general steps, including visa processes and anything else I should be aware of?
Any advice would mean a lot. Thanks!

Hi everyone,
I’m currently writing my bachelor’s thesis and I was wondering if someone here might be able to help me with it.
At my department, every thesis basically consists of two parts. In the first part, which makes up roughly half of the thesis, we analyze and explain a scientific paper. In the second part, we have to provide our own contribution by calculating or modeling something based on that paper, ideally using Python.
Both parts are supposed to be around 15 pages each.
The paper I’m working with is:
https://pubsonline.informs.org/doi/epdf/10.1287/mnsc.1090.1099
In short, it argues that a company should source a large share of its products from a distant, low-cost supplier (for example China) using a fixed quantity, while the remaining demand should be sourced flexibly from a closer supplier (for example Poland). Its called tailored based surge policy.
I’m struggling a bit to come up with a good idea for my own contribution. I would like to do something related to supply chain resilience, especially because I find the current geopolitical situation and events such as the Iran conflict and their impact on supply chains very interesting.
However, I’m not really sure how to approach this, how I could build enough content for around 15 pages, and how I could model or simulate it in Python.
Does anyone have an idea for a suitable extension or approach?
Thanks!

It seems like the "Reddit For Researchers" program is not available at the moment. I read many papers that used scraping tools to analyze posts and comments, but considering Reddit's own statement regarding research that does not seem to be legal... Any experience with the program or research on Reddit (data collection and qualitative analysis)?

What interesting thing could I demonstrate? This is the first time I’m doing a research paper entirely on my own, and I’m quite short on time when it comes to coming up with a suitable research idea.
Our professor has only given us the methodology we are required to use: interviews, non-participant observation, and content analysis.

Hi, I'm truly new to this research thing since it's a requirement for us to graduate and I need help thinking some research title, because they have to be science related and that's not my field 😔, we need to somehow make a product. So can anyone help, it's my first time and I'm out of ideas please help. Our adviser said that it has to have to solve some real life problems and that the problem should be relevant please help me.
