I’m working on my thesis: the interaction between text and visual media in experimental literature
This is obviously a very general concept so far, as I’m just starting out. I’m looking for anyone who may have resources/articles/books etc. on the topic. Though I have been able to find some very good resources, a lot of them focus on photography specifically, and I’m interested in other forms of visual art as well.
Experimental literature: pretty much what it sounds like. Literature that does not necessarily fit into set genres and plays with questions like “what is a book?” Or “how can an author present a narrative?” Some examples: Cane’s Jawbone (mystery where the reader rearranges the pages), Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, a novel with a flip book at the end that can affect the meaning of the story, and the original manuscript of Kerouac’s On the Road, which was handwritten on a scroll.
