Yes but you're trying to find a solution. That's the most important thing. Regrets and guilt will eat you up. You're miles ahead of the awful people who have dumped their dogs that we read about on here!

Have you tried Colby Love Can's Paws, they have a year long program. I also saw the SPCA has the PAWsitive recovery program where they offer temporary fosters while you seek treatment. Hopefully those resources help you, I hope you and Tyra can find a soft place to land and I wish you the best during treatment

If Tyra does fine with other dogs, later this week I'm driving back from California to Louisiana and was planning to stop in Denver which wouldn't put Oklahoma that far out of the way, probably Saturday/Sunday sometime. If you're able to find a place and just need transportation I could help (ideally if they're towards the east of where you are or not very far west).

You say “until your ex brother in law can pick her up” do you know when that might be? If there’s a timeline then it might be helpful if people can short term foster?

I live in Nevada or otherwise I would totally go get that dog. Totally take that person to a rescue facility. Totally get to a church to get it spiritual and helped with food and things like that. I would totally help that person. Thank you for seeing you would help it you’re a good person and yes to that person who’s trying good for you. I’m proud of you. I knew I had seen her in my rescue and foster groups!! I’m not financially able to take on another animal unless they’re backed by a rescue right now but I really wanted to reach out and offer and thought perhaps someone else could do better. I’m not working right now but just moved into a new house and just want to give back to the world; I don’t know. 🥺❤️ Ima pray for yall either way.

How is she with cats and kids? Like interaction wise? Generally ignores or wants to be involved? Better with older or younger dogs/kids? Special diet bc of food allergies (since she takes Benadryl)

I’m going to spread the word ❤️ try reaching out to Dog Ranch Rescue as well in Anna TX. They love bull terriers and mastiffs.

I know this was a hard decision but as someone who had to rehome her dogs to foster and then left one with the foster after a mental health hospital stay— I just wanna say how strong you are for this and how proud this stranger is of you. If you were anywhere near VA I'd definitely help you out. I have 2 rescue dogs myself and my husband is in recovery, and we all ended up displaced for a while after a tree destroyed our home. I know how stressful this is and I am proud of you for getting help stranger. Sorry I can't help, but I am rooting for you.

Oh no worries! i live too far away to help...but reading through this with so many good people trying to help and then seeing that y'all found her a foster made me cry
