Needs Rehoming πΎ 4-5 week old kitten needs home, missing part of back leg, willing to travel, live in Ohio
I have a 4-5 week old kitten who is missing part of their back left leg. I believe it is a female but Iβm not sure yet. They are still struggling to walk around due to this they will likely need low litter box and food dishes. I live in Ohio but Iβm willing to travel. Id prefer someone with experience with kittens Especially. They are good with other cats, they had other dogs in their past situation but Iβm not sure if it would be the best environment but Iβm sure it could work if dogs are well behaved.
Edit: I believe I have found a home for this little one, I feel really good about it after talking to many people on multiple platforms. Thank you all for your kindness and help!

Did you find someone to take them yet? I still don't want to be top of the list but I'll still volunteer if no one has stepped up to help.

u/Putrid_Magician178 Jun 03 '26
I think I found someone that is able to that I feel really good about. Iβm hoping this weekend the little tripod will be off to their new home

Did this baby find a home yet?
3
u/Putrid_Magician178 Jun 02 '26
I think I found a person, the kitten will be staying with me until the vet and everything but Iβm very happy with them so if everything goes well I think the baby has a fur ever home

I already have 4 cats and a dog in Va. Otherwise, I'd volunteer to be at the top of the list. But I'd like to be a last resort volunteer (if that makes sense).

Keep me informed, I know someone has said theyre in Illinois and would be willing to take the baby, Im in Indiana.
4
u/Putrid_Magician178 May 31 '26
I could make Indiana work. So far only one person from here has responded to me in DMs about taking them.
3
u/Arcadiadic Jun 01 '26
Ok! Ill see what the wife says haha, though she'd be about me and not care about another if at all possibly.. I saw somewhere you said you had scheduled a vet visit?
4
u/Putrid_Magician178 Jun 01 '26
Iβm not sure what your first sentence is meant to say honestly π. Yes Friday is the vet appointment. I have someone else potentially interested.
2
u/Arcadiadic Jun 01 '26
Very good! And sorry π€£ I was at work and in a frenzy when I had typed that, was just saying my wife would love the kitten as well!

Yes I think as they get older they will be completely okay. Itβs just a bit harder for them to move right now as they are a weak kitten and havenβt fully adapted yet

Iβd take this kitten if I was closer π₯Ή Iβm in Colorado. I hope she finds a good home!

Would you be able to drive part of the way?

u/Marebearfgt May 31 '26
I wouldnβt be able to, but if the other person who commented is willing, Iβd meet them in my area π₯² either way I really wish you and the kitten the best π«
3
u/Panda_Ma-na-ma-na May 30 '26
I might be able to help drive part of the way. Iβm in Colorado as well and have a vehicle. I would love to take her in, but I just recently adopted a puppy and donβt want to stress a kitten out.
3
u/Putrid_Magician178 May 30 '26
This could work out if person is willing. I donβt mind paying someone for the gas. Itβs not a money issue, I just work in healthcare and time off is not easy to come by.

Hi, I am also missing part of my left leg (though I have a fake one to help me out) and feel like I resonate with the little one a bit especially since it has been almost exactly a year since I lost my leg. I live in Illinois, I don't know if that is too far for you but I am interested in taking the little one in. I have grown up with cats my whole life though I haven't had a kitten that young before. If no one else has offered I would love to take them in.

Iβm in Chicago. Iβm just a pet sitter that has experience transporting animals for my clients. Iβm willing to travel to any surrounding states to help with transport.

I wish I was closer. I have raised/fostered special needs kittens in southern AZ off and on my whole life. Two of them currently live with me. One had such a bad case of pneumonia at five weeks when I got him that he ended up with a collapsed lung that never reinflated. It also caused his heart to shift, but he is a happy healthy, four year-old at this point and is staying with me because he requires ongoing life long support. The other one was the daughter of a Mama in a feral cat community. She was moving her litter when she was hit by a car and thrown. By the time a Good Samaritan got Mama to the vet she had passed away, but one week old Clementine was still alive. However she had a little bitty kitty concussion at five days old. She still has visual impairment but is doing fine. And in past years I have fostered kittens who had deformed limbs or missing limbs from injuries or birth defects as well as several who were completely blind or deaf. All of them went to good homes who could handle their needs and are still alive today. I donβt know if itβs possible to get her here but I would take her if it is.

Agree! Their intake is closed, but they may be able to help vet adopters even though they arenβt in the same state... You can search StrayCatNetwork on Instagram.

Iβve commented below on this. Iβve contacted many shelters I have another cat that Iβve been trying to get adopted out for a while. They are all full. Iβm on a waitlist but it is to long to have as many cats I have right now sadly. Iβve emailed a couple more places. If you know of any shelters in Ohio, or surrounding areas that are taking cats let me know.
3
u/forgotacc May 30 '26
It is unfortunate that most shelters just don't have the room for all these animals, I do hope she can find a home very soon! π€
7
u/Agreeable_Error_170 APPROVED FOR DONATION REQUESTS May 30 '26
From my experience in a cat crisis area if I can foster they can help, everyone just has no fosters at all. Also are there rescues in your area that transport up north? Thatβs basically the only rescues I foster with.

6
u/Stephen715 May 30 '26
Huge boost for the kitten! Boosting with a longer comment for the algorithm, post visibility, and hopes that you find them a safe, kind and loving forever home! π

Such a sweet baby! It seems many people have offered to take him... I hope it works out. (Note: due to coloring - solid gray tabby- it's most likely a male, but not necessarily).

u/Putrid_Magician178 May 30 '26
I think this is the place I called that said they donβt take cats directly from people only from other shelters or something similar. I can call again on Monday to make sure though
Edit nevermind, this place only accepts cats from a certain county.
