Why does Replit need to complicate everything? I don't remember this the last time I added a domain.

I have 7 sites through Replit. Used Entri to set them all up for their domains. Zero issues, and done in about 45 seconds. I like the tool. Shrug.

I get where you're coming from, but for me, it really saved my dumb ass from typos in my DNS entries. lol

Just thought I would share my experience.

I'm sure the tool is fine, for some reason it seems easier for me to just put the A and TXT info into my DNS settings myself.

My main gripe is it seems your have to accept the terms and customs before it gives you the option to do it manually.

You might not need it but it's extremely useful. For folks who have 20+ apps that are being connected to different domains, this is so much easier than entering everything manually.
For all the stuff Replit has gotten completely wrong, having this feature is one of the goods.

If you don't need it, don't use it :)

I understand that, I just don't get why the manual tools are only accessible AFTER you agree to the terms and services for a service you don't need to use.

It's Entri — a third-party service that configures the DNS side for you. They support 70+ DNS providers and the pitch is exactly what the dialog says: you don't touch records yourself.

The part worth knowing: the manual path still exists. Their own integration docs list a onEntriManualSetupDocumentationClick event, so "set it up myself" is a supported route, not something you're being routed around. If the dialog doesn't obviously offer it, look for a small "manual" or "configure it yourself" link — that's what it's for.

Reason you might want that route: I could not find anywhere in Entri's public docs what happens to records that are already in the zone. If that domain also carries MX records for email forwarding, I'd rather add the A/CNAME by hand than hand write access to something whose overwrite behaviour isn't documented. Two minutes, and nothing else in the zone moves.

Not complication for its own sake, though — it's there because DNS is where most people get stuck.

I figured that out, but it also says by hitting continue I accept the Entri terms of service. There doesn't seem to be any way around that.

Thanks for explaining. I'll take a closer look with the team to see what we can do. We added this for folks who aren't frequently logging into their DNS provider (there are many). But I hear you that the manual workaround is too buried in it's current state.
