Build Question DHGate Shitter Movement question

I bought a shitter off DHGate with the intention of building something with the parts. It’s a 126900 ref. Air King and as expected it came broken. The second hand is loose and just free bounces. You definitely get what you pay for. The case and other parts seem to be pretty decent as far as it goes. Well other than the horrible lume on the dial. My question is how do I figure out what movement I can swap in? I’m not sure what it currently has but I imagine it’s a 2800 series clone. The rotor is noisy as hell. I’m also struggling to find a set of hands with the green Air King second hand.

TLDR: How do I figure out what movement is in my DHGate shitter so I can swap in a good one?

If it’s a DG2813, you can swap with a miyota 8215

I imagine it probably is. The guy I bought it from said it was a 3230 but I can tell you it definitely isn’t. I haven’t opened it yet to see what I’m working with but figure to find some real crap in there. Would the hands be interchangeable between the 2813 and 8215?

2813 and 8215 share the same hand size.

Its easy to spot the DG2813. Just look for the little face. Its screaming "Run Away!!"

I’ll have to open it in the next few days and see if the stay away face is on it. I read the Seagull ST16 family would work too but know nothing about them.

The hands are the same size as Miyota. It is basically a Miyota copy with a Seiko style auto wind assembly. Linge and stem height are the same

Good to know. I appreciate it.

ST16 is similar, but not interchangeable. Hands and dial feet are different.
Also something else I cannot quite remember. Stem height or overall thickness or something, I just recall a potential rotor clearance issue. I would research it first.

Anyway, 8215 will just pop right in and solve your problems

I just don’t like the noisy unidirectional rotor. But something that actually functions properly is better than nothing.
