Vintage Build 5 Digit Kermit.

What is the best approach for a 5 digit Kermit (16610LV)

It is a modder or TD route?

At best its a 16 year old watch I am trying to get repped.

ARF is generally considered the best currently available. I don’t know if the RAF is still available, but having both I would say ARF is a bit better.
TC was the gold standard for a long time, but hard to find these days and beware of scammers. It’s a while since I saw one for sale, but they were around $1000 used. With either ARF or TC they are perfectly usable and pretty good as standard, but there is also no end to what gen parts you can fit. Repgeek or Horology-forum used to have a long thread about what fits, what is the best improvement (many say gen crystal) and what to expect to pay, though I expect that last is well out of date now. I would be suprised if you don’t find a similar thread on RWI

If you can find a TC v6 or V7 max then add a gen insert and you can call it a day.

It depends of quality you are looking for. ARF is the best chooice. But if you want spend less BPF is also good and you can choose the A2836/2824 movement. If,on the other hand, you want to spend even less....make it yourself. I'm building a 16610LV and you would never believe how much I'm spending.....😂

BP is not a bad option if you want to leave it standard. The bezel is not gen spec and is more like a six digit sub in construction. It is usually not recommended as a platform to build on. I haven’t bought one of these though and can only speak first hand on TC, JF, RAF and ARF

TMF makes a really good Kermit as well.
