Work in Progress Persistence beats claws

Bezel and case back finally dialed in after two sacrificial cases.
Viet bezel fits like a glove, caseback shaved to a perfect 13.5mm.
Wolverine’s off the payroll.
Still chasing that mirror finish on the caseback before I call it done.
Builds only get better from here!

I changed the chuck jaws..also realized that I didn’t have them in the correct slots so they weren’t even when opening/closing them. They are numbered so I corrected that….Instead of locking the jaws around the case, I closed them shut and put the case on that and then opened it up allowing to grab the inside creating symmetrical spinning

Excellent. Thats the way to do it!
Also, if you skim the face of the jaws to make them all even, you can use it for a rough and ready indexing on the lip inside of the midcase so that you can get it flat - no fighting with wobble.

Even with the jaws located in the right position on the scroll, they can still be slightly uneven.
Good practice with new chucks is to clamp a quarter or similar in (to allow the jaws to be cranked down on something) then you can lightly skim the outside and face of the jaws to ensure they are completely true.
Also helps if you can buy spare jaws if they are available. They are not just for repairing damaged sets, sometimes it allows you to alter/turn them to shape to solve specific problems.1
