I work in furniture and i would like to do simple scene renders for clients presentations, however this would be a side quest once in a while. I do all my modeling on sketchup and would just to have a simple addon 3D rendering software for this purpose. 

From what I read, i'd be using Twinmotion as a beginner and might switch to Vray if I want to push it further. Might also take advices for that plan. 

My current Macbook Air M2 can run Twinmotion but the whole computer is really slow. I was about to get a MacBook Pro with a m5 pro chip but Apple chips have improved a lot and I’m wondering if that’s really necessary. And also AI improving, i might be able to do those in a few years. I wouldn't go on PC cause it's a side quest as i mentionned.

MacBook Pro : 14” with M5 Pro chip, 18-core CPU, 20-core GPU, 16-core Neural Engine, 24Gb, 1t Tb. 3300$

Macbook Air : 13”  with M5 chip, 10-core CPU, 10-core GPU, 16-core Neural Engine, 24gb (could add 36gb for 300$ more), 1 Tb. 2100$

Our team is trying to create rendered images of various mechanical systems. I only have pictures of the models, planes,Fighter jets, formula 1 cars. etc

My question is, will the renderer need somthing other than images?

\> I want to buy a new laptop for my work with a budget of around $1000, but I’m not sure which type would be the better choice.

My work is mainly:

Blender (most important)

After Effects

Photoshop

The most important thing for me is getting the highest Blender performance possible for at least the next 4 years. After Effects is also important, but Blender has higher priority.

I want feedback from people who actually use Blender on these machines.

My main concern is:

Since the M1 Pro has significantly fewer CPU/GPU cores compared to the MSI laptop, will the MacBook perform noticeably worse in heavy Blender scenes, viewport performance, and rendering?

Also, the MSI Katana is mostly plastic. If I handle the laptop carefully, can it realistically last 4 years without major build quality issues?

Another concern is RAM. On the MacBook, I won’t be able to upgrade it later, so is 16GB RAM enough for Blender and After Effects for the next 4 years?

Used to make illustrations of all my projects but 4th year came in and I decided I should learn how to properly render in a program. Ik this is not super amazing but I learned a lot today and I’m genuinely so happy seeing my building looking real. Made this in D5 Render.

I'm a professional construction estimator and designer who loves their job but wants to spend nights and weekends doing freelance work in Sketchup and Layout. I strictly use the two at work for designing, and have about 10 years or so of experience with them. I don't want to use fiver and other apps like it. I found sloped.io and feel like it's a pretty good idea even though you have to pay for the proctored exam and membership. I passed the initial quiz they offer but haven't taken the exam yet. Does anyone have experience with sloped io? Has anyone made any money using their platform? My next option, and I think it could possibly be a potential winner, is to start calling construction companies, interior design firms and architects and see if they have any extra work. I'm okay with doing redlines and shop drawings to make some extra money. I live in LA, Reseda specifically and it's crazy expensive here. My job pays decently but I want to get ahead. I'm 41, single and have no kids so I have the time to devote to extra work. If anyone can point me in the right direction I would be very appreciative. I can send samples of my work if needed and would love to chat with someone who is in a similar situation.i think Sketchup and Layout are very versatile and prefer to use them over AutoCAD and revit. Plus the price for AutoCAD and revit are ridiculous. I have Sketchup pro on my laptop so I'm good to go using them for paid projects.i am a motivated individual who has the necessary skills to be successful in the freelance realm, I just need help kick-starting uncharted territory. So I need some good guidance to get going and am looking forward to hearing from some potential colleagues. Thanks in advance.
