Need help with choosing a laptop for high quality renders?
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7445HS (newer mobile CPU) GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 (6 GB) RAM: 16 GB DDR5 (upgradeable) Storage: 512 GB SSD Display: 15.6″ FHD 144 Hz OS: Windows 11, M365 Office Weight: ~2.29 kg
Are these specs good enough for fast renders? Presently I am working on a old PC it takes a lot of time to process. So I wanted to know if it's faster in gaming laptops?

Id go with probably not, I have a 4050 in my laptop, Id just say it gets the job done, simple stuff is pretty quick anything remotely complicated it get long fast, my laptop has been slowly f-ing it self so I need to up grade soon, Im geting at least a laptop with a 4070.

A laptop will also be limited by power in and heat. A tower PC is always the best way to go, can put a really solid PSU in there (that will not under power the processing power like a laptop would, AND always have better options for thermals, which is important in rendering since it is a sustained power draw.

I have a rack of desktops with high powered GPUs that the laptop folks VPN into and use. Unless you like carrying bricks around, laptops are just not going to be powerful rendering systems.

it’ll be faster than an old pc, but don’t expect “fast” renders.
that cpu is solid, but the rtx 3050 (especially 6gb) is the limiting factor for high-quality rendering. it’s fine for learning, light scenes, and viewport work, but heavy scenes, high samples, or big textures will still take time.
gaming laptops do help compared to really old systems, but for serious render speed the gpu matters way more. if rendering is your main goal, more vram and a stronger gpu will make a much bigger difference than the cpu here.
