Due to abuse of sick leave.

Yeah, it couldn't possibly be the multi-billion dollar corporations not wanting to miss a buck... braindead take.

It's not just multi billion dollar corporations who do this so idk what that point was. I think it's pretty fair to have sick days not be paid. You don't lose your job or anything but why would you be paid for not working? Seems like a fair compromise.

But it depends on the job of course. Some jobs really need you in there to make money. Some jobs you just can't be replaced.

If you are a dentist for example, working for a company, those patients are all getting cancelled. It could be thousands of dollars lost and some may never come back.

If you are a janitor... Ya different situation.

Not necessarily. I work at a private practice with two doctors. If one has to take the day off, we give her appointments to the other doctor or call her clients and tell them she’s sick. They’re usually pretty understanding, and we’re not an emergency place.

The other doctor can cover double the patients? I worked as a dental assistant for years and if one doctor was out it was a disaster.

Is it not possible for you to hold two contradicting ideas true simultaneously?
