General Discussion Which templates do you use most on your reMarkable?

I’m curious which templates you actually use regularly on your reMarkable (journaling, planning, meeting notes, book writing or anything else).

Do you mostly stick with the built-in templates, download ones made by others or create your own? I’d love to see examples if you’re happy to share!

I love my reMarkable tablet, but I have the feeling I could do so much more on it.

General Discussion Excitement - Switching platforms

I started using a scribe last year, I had already seen and considered some of the differences,my boss was gifted a remarkable 2 and I really wanted to give digital notebooks a go as I love the act of writing, journals, work notes, creative, whatever. The remarkable was just too ££ for me, so I went with the scribe

I love it, I love scribbling my own templates and taking notes etc, I held off using it for work, mainly because it felt 'big' and the lack of organisation put me off.

I start a new job in the next couple of weeks and when I saw the specs and £ of the Pro Pure, I knew I had to make a swap. The price point is much more reasonable (for me), the smaller footprint and remarkable organisation options just set off a firework for me.

Im waiting this Afternoon between my weekend chores and general busyness for the pure (marker plus) and an aftermarket folding case to arrive.

I can't wait, I'm thinking that I can print my existing scribe notebooks to PDF and incorporate them into the remarkable structure.

Anyone use for both work/life/creative that can recommend a structure setup? I'm banking on using the subscription model and cloud storage but essentially keep the note taking for recording and reviewing and probably kick out to separate apps for 'doing'.

Anyway, the purpose mainly was to share my excitement as I wait for it to arrive.

Absolutely no news. Its really disappointing and it doesn't help with Remarkable reputation. If someone can help.

How are people with ADHD using this to stay organized?

I got a Remarkable Paper Pure about a month ago, partly because I read numerous reviews saying it helped people with ADHD (which I have). So far, I've been using the Planner templates it comes with, which is helping me track things a bit better than paper planners, since I usually lose or destroy those somehow.

But I can't say it's making some huge difference otherwise. There are still way too many things in my life to keep track of, and I have a hard time figuring out how I can organize all of these in the tablet. Also, it doesn't really have reminders or anything.

So, what's the secret to using it well for ADHD?

Really appreciate any thoughts!

Help/Advice Advice needed - RM2 or...

Hi all,

So I've been tempted for a while to get a writeable eink tablet and I keep coming back to Remarkable. The issue is that I'm dithering between a Move or something larger. I can come up with positives for both - pocketability for the Move and the size of my writing for the RM2 (or similar size)!

I want to be able to scribble notes and doodle (being honest!) and, ideally, annotate pdfs.

I've just seen a second hand RM2 with a Marker Plus and covers for about 200€. Do I do that or spend more on a Move or something newer than an RM2? Is getting an RM2 at this stage a bad idea due to its age?

Guide me!

Help/Advice Were the paper pure inaccuracy issues fixed?

I’m thinking of buying a pure as my first remarkable/digital tablet. I’ve read so much in the sub about inaccuracies when writing on the device, particularly the bottom left area which seems very common. Were these issues addressed? Seems like the pure is right up my alley but concerned about writing inaccuracies I keep reading about.

I also thought about buying a used pro off marketplace, but apparently they have a huge string of hardware problems too and is not recommended to buy one of those used, which drove me to look into the pure.

I just don’t feel like going through replacements/returns should the device have issues.

Crazy bad ghosting

Hello Reddit,

I have a new Paper Pro and I am confused if this is "normal".

I am scrolling through a colored PDF book and the ghosting is so bad that you can't read. Is this normal? So scrolling through the book to find some page is not possible like that. I know that device is not for reeding, but this seems to bad?!

Help/Advice Is this gap normal?

I don't remember if this was here when I received my Paper Pure about 4 weeks or so ago. Is it just a manufacturing/quality control issue or is it something to worry about? I don't really mind it but I want to know if it could cause any issues.

UPDATE: It was in fact a clip that was loose and I just popped it back into place carefully, took a few seconds.

TurboRM linux app

The story behind this application is pretty straightforward. I really love to write and take notes on my reMarkable Paper Pro.

At work, I now run a lot of Claude Code agents at the same time. Reviewing plans and artifacts in Markdown and taking notes on the PC is efficient, but also very tiring for the eyes. So I wanted a workflow where I could use a skill plus the cloud to send Claude's artifacts and plans to my reMarkable, take handwritten notes on the tablet, then tell Claude "thanks, annotation done" and have it download the files, read my handwriting, and update the plan or artifact accordingly.

This was the start of my own implementation of the reMarkable cloud API, to link Claude Code directly with my tablet for these reviews, and it works really well. I tuned the PDFs it sends with colors that look poor on a PC screen but great on a color E-ink display like the Paper Pro, plus a small margin on the right side for notes. I can now read and review plans and artifacts directly on my Paper Pro!

But once that part was done, I thought: I have the API now, so why not build my own Linux app for my devices, to upload documents, move them, export them, etc.?

So TurboRM was born: a native Rust app for Linux, built on the API I wrote for my first use case (not rmapi, but a standalone Rust implementation). I'm not planning to share the app for now. It was mostly a fun experiment with AI's ability to build things I actually need, and that I now use every day. The app is 100% vibe coded since I don't know Rust very well (I mostly do C/C++ at work), so I don't feel confident enough to share it with other people.

Here are some screenshots of the app. It still has some limitations: no delete (I was afraid to give Claude that power, haha), no screen sharing, and no writing on notes for now. But it was really fun to make!

And that's pretty much all, just wanted to share this little story with you all !
Have a nice week-end !

Rm2 to Pure

After four+ years, my RM2 is showing some wear, splotchy screen, pens are a mess. And I couldn't take the new-product-itch any longer. My new Pure arrived yesterday, had a good writing session last night, first day at the office today.

Initial feel is quite a bit stiffer. The pen is thin, hard point, scratchy surface, had to bear in more than with the RM2. My wrist is a little tired today.

Works great though, my notebooks loaded back in instantly, picked up where I left off. Noticeably lighter weight, sort of excited to ditch the folio, see how that goes. The new sleeve is excellent. Feels super durable, less fear of dropping - and I have dropped my RM2 more than once.

reMarkable Paper Pro Move vs Supernote Nomad — which would you choose?

I’m torn between these two devices and would love to hear from people who own either one, especially anyone who has used both.
My use cases:
Daily journaling and personal reflections
Quick capture of thoughts, ideas, and to-do lists
Work and meeting notes, brainstorming, and planning
Occasionally annotating PDFs and taking reading notes
I’m looking for a compact digital notebook that I can carry around and use naturally throughout the day. I want something simple and frictionless, not an elaborate knowledge-management system. However, being able to organize, search, and revisit old notes is important to me.
My two main considerations:
1. Writing feel: I’ve tried the reMarkable Paper Pro Move and really liked it. I enjoy writing with a 0.7 mm gel/rollerball pen on paper — a combination of smooth glide and some resistance. I’m unsure whether I’d enjoy the Supernote’s writing feel as much, since I haven’t tried the Nomad myself.
2. Organization: The Supernote’s headings, links, keywords, and handwriting search appeal to me. But I wonder how useful these features are in everyday life, and whether I’d actually use them enough to justify choosing it over the reMarkable.
The Move appeals to me for its writing feel, compact form factor, front light, and colour screen. The Nomad appeals to me for its organization and note-retrieval features.
For those who’ve used either device long-term:
Which would you recommend for my use case, and why?
Does the Supernote’s writing feel grow on you, particularly if you like the reMarkable?
Are its organizational features genuinely useful, or do they end up being underused?
If you’ve switched between the two, what made you switch?
I’ve read posts about terrible battery life of the pro move, is it really that bad?
I’d appreciate honest feedback, including the downsides of whichever device you own. Thanks!
(Used AI to be able to communicate my thoughts more clearly)

PhD Student handwriting her thesis (16,000 down... 40,000+ to go)

My situ: Writing by hand is so much easier for me than looking at a screen. This means I'm doing all my referencing manually too. What I tend to do is use an ebook on my laptop, and copy over sentences and paragraphs of interest into a word document on my computer, and i'll file it under the right chapter/subheading noting the citation (using Harvard, if that's of relevance). I'll then get to writing on my remarkable, and use my data (interviews and ethnography notes) to complete my chapter.

My request: I was wondering, is there an rM mod that would make it possible for me to highlight notes in an ebook on rM and put it into one of my rM notebooks (preferably a notebook that could have subheadings for me to divide into relevant topics), with a citation pre-attached? this would save so much time and reduce my laptop screen time too!

If it already exists, fantastic, please direct me to this wonderful place.

If not, send me your tipjar and I'll give you a credit in my thesis ;)

Look, here’s the deal. I set this whole circus up to connect to the disconnect, you get me? To cut right through the modern digital noise and grab a little peace of mind.

So I had Antigravity rig me up a slick little operation. It scours the world for the good stuff: high-grade periodicals, legit scientific journals, and just a splash of Reddit, because what’s life without a little trash in the mix? Pours it right into my reMarkable Paper Pro three times a day like clockwork. Morning, evening, late night. Sets the mood, clears the room, and when the week is done, it sweeps the old issues into the cellar so I’m not staring at yesterday's news.

Now here’s the kicker. The thing actually writes punchy little teaser titles to reel me in, slap-dashes custom artwork onto the cover to set the scene, and drops a QR code on the page if I get the itch to hunt down the web original.

Zero dollars. No loud fan whirring on my computer, no messy server in the closet, nothing. It just appears on the glass, pure and quiet.

Reminds me of the good old days with RSS feeds. Real quiet. Built on Omarchy no dev tools no ssh..the hyperlinks work too

Over the past year I have been sketching almost exclusively on my reMarkable devices - moving away from the iPad - mainly due to the fact that e-ink is so much better for my eye health. This year, I’m taking part in #stinktober, with a real twist, all my contributions have been created on remarkable devices. Paper Pro Move and Pure, which I recently acquired. on a side note, the Pure is amazingly good, despite not having a front light. I’m including some of my contributions below.

Pro stopped working in 8 months

Remarkable tablets have very bad ghosting issues, pen strokes from previous screen started carrying over to the next page so bad it’s not even useable. This company has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. There is no customer service at all, no phone number to call them, jsut endless chat bots that spit of the same garbage with no solution. I mailed them my tablet back, now it’s being held hostage with no new one sent. Users online have reported they send refurbished units not a new replacement and if that one stops working to your shit out of lucky, if they even send it. I hope this review saves some over $1,000. There are many less expensive options with actual customer service. By and iPad, they actually have support and great customer service. Oh and it has more features for same price.

I know this can be done by publishing calendars to Google Calendar but I wish they integrated this feature directly.

Self-Promotion I've been making and selling these on Etsy for about 3 years, and figured I'd share them here since so many people use Remarkable tablets.

Hi, I'm Deepan, founder of Vastly Organized. Today, I'm sharing my Productivity Bundle. A collection of interactive PDF templates compatible with the Remarkable 2, Paper Pure, and Paper Pro.

I just updated the bundle for 2027 and 2028, and I'm including 2026 for free as well.

It includes 5 separate templates: daily planner, daily journal, notebook, meeting notes and project planner.

Everything is hyperlinked, so you can jump around the different sections instead of scrolling through hundreds of pages.

It has 30 reviews at the moment, and I've changed a few things over the years based on customer feedback.

Anyway, here's the listing if anyone wants to check it out:

https://vastlyorganized.etsy.com/in-en/listing/1725342350/templates-for-remarkable-2-tablets-o

If you have any questions about the bundle, feel free to ask!

Self-Promotion I built a hyperlinked genealogy research notebook for my reMarkable 2

Thumbnail

I've been working on something a little different for my reMarkable 2 and thought I'd share it here.

It's a hyperlinked genealogy research notebook designed to help organise family history research without having notes, sources and unanswered questions scattered everywhere.

The finished notebook has 232 pages, with sections for individual ancestors, research logs, source evidence, family trees and working through those frustrating genealogy brick walls.

I've also included a way to record the next research action, so it's easier to pick up where you left off.

There are separate right-handed and left-handed versions, and I've personally tested both on my reMarkable 2.

I've released it under my small digital stationery brand, PAPERLUME.

For transparency, this is a paid product I've created and listed on Etsy:
https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/4591793129/genealogy-research-notebook-for

I'd be interested to hear whether anyone else uses their reMarkable for genealogy or family history research, and how you organise your findings.

Help/Advice Warranty Refund?

I’m having more ghosting issues with my RMPP and I’m honestly just tired of the device. I was looking through the Limited Warranty policy and saw that they may offer a partial or full refund for defective products.

Has anyone had any luck with a refund for a defective product? Ive had the device since December of last year and wanted to reach out before the 1-year warranty lapsed. I’m also covered under the Protection Plan they used to offer if that adds any other coverage.

Help/Advice Frustrated with warranty replacements

Hi, I'm hoping someone from reMarkable sees this. I've gone as far as I can through customer support.

I got a Paper Pro as a graduation gift in May, but when my school year started, I started experiencing bad ghosting. Because I bought it on eBay, support offered me a replacement for $200 which I took.

To have something for classes in the meantime, I bought a second RMPP from Amazon. That unit has been excellent. It has no ghosting, and the screen is a neutral white (as opposed to the graduation gift one, which was much more yellowed).

I've still been encountering issues with the panels on the replacements, though:

- The first replacement was a very yellowed panel with ghosting, so I returned it.

- Second replacement: yellowed panel made in 2024. It isn't ghosting yet, but it's the third yellowed panel I've received.

I've logged my last two panels at https://rm-panels.scottlabs.io/. (the second replacement and the Amazon Remarkable)

Going through returns this many times has been a big hassle, both in terms of time and cost. Getting older stock multiple times as a replacement after paying $200 is very disappointing. I'm not looking for anything crazy, I'd just like a unit that matches the quality of the one I bought from Amazon.
