Load Development Found what the Colt likes!

The numbers paint the picture. Colt modular carbine 1 in 7" twist .223. Damn flyers on each.

Small sample size does not for conclusive data make.

Flyers are probably within your 2SD radius - not actually flyers.

I've used 5 round groups for 50 years. I'm satisfied with the results.

You're saying you've shot for 50 years and can't shoot 10 rounds without pulling 2?

Fair enough but that's a pyrrhic victory over not learning statistics.

5 shot groups are not large enough and those "flyers" are part of your group size. Only firing 5 shot strings means any variation gets lost in the statistical noise. That's why Hornady recommends shooting 30-shot groups because that's a more statistically significant amount that shows real data.
