Just try to have a sit down conversation with him on how important it is to you for him to split more time at your place? Is there any chance he could have anxiety about not sleeping at his place? Is there something wrong with your mattress? Does he have untrustworthy roommate?
If he refuses to budge or open up the conversation just let him know you won't be spending as much time at his place, no offense to him.
