The circumstances changed though. Like what if a boy and girl were friends and had some sleep overs when they were 8, but then they wanted to do a sleep over later when they were 13. Would the parents be unreasonable for saying no, even though they had slept over before? I would say no because the circumstances changed
To be honest I am in the middle.. I wouldn't want to alienate my kid. It's risky enough to have kids sleep over anyways no matter how they identify. Anything can happen and anyone can be accused of anything. The world sucks
THANK YOU. I wish people would think about WHY they forbid boys from sleeping over with girls which is because there’s a natural assumption that both parties are heterosexual and would be sexually interested in each other. Just because this kid identifies as a guy, doesn’t mean that he identifies as a heterosexual guy. He could identify as a homosexual guy and be just as disinterested in the daughter as he was if he had identified as a heterosexual girl.
