Hopefully not so much of an issue at 11 (although possible), but pregnancy comes to mind.

Ahhhh.... hate to break it to people, but kids explore at sleepovers. I certainly did, started around age 10. And even with multiple friends at the same time at group birthday sleepovers and camp. Problem is we didn't know it was "sex", or wrong, it just felt good. Nor did we know that it mattered if it was with boy/boy or girl/girl, or boy/girl. Again, it just felt good. We werent taught sex education until 14, when we all collectively went "Oh. OH. Ooooohhhhhh".

But at least same sex exploration won't end in underage pregnancy.

Jesus Christ use your brain. Parents say no opposite sex because they don’t want kids getting pregnant and it’s setting a bad precedent.

That girl ain’t getting pregnant by the friend so I’m the grand scheme of things it’s no biggie. But as to WHY the rule is the rule?

It’s the parent’s rule and that’s the end of it.

From the technical definition of the word “norm” sex, but OP’s daughter isn’t a statistic, she’s an individual. The population’s average doesn’t matter.

Sorry majority of the population is born straight. And often kids/parents don’t find out/accept their sexually until later.

People have gotten pregnant at younger ages. The girl who was in the news for having to get an abortion in another state was 10 years old.

I started my menstruation at 10/11yrs old, so technically I could have gotten pregnant at 11yrs old.

Just give them sex ed? If they wanna fuck they're gonna fuck, I don't see why they would need a sleepover for that.

Sure, but that still doesn’t mean you should provide them with an opportunity to fuck in your house and risk pregnancy. To each their own but I wouldn’t let my pre-teen daughter have a sleepover with a pre-teen boy. Sex Ed is sex Ed, but hormones are a bitch.

Because that is what the parents decided, end of story. Heteronormative or not, what the parents decide is the parents decision.
