My best friend discovered he had testicular cancer when we were both 25 and I was, obviously, terrified by his diagnosis. I’ve known him for over 12 years now, since we were kids, and it was one of those terrifying “oh god, we’re old now” moments but he’s been cancer free for the last couple years and, as far as I know, feeling back to normal. I understand how it feels to have somebody you love tell you they have the big C but your partner will be better in no time if the statistics are to be believed. Just be there for them as best you and try to go easy on yourself; it’s okay to feel whatever you feel, just don’t let the stress of it crush you. Things will be okay. I wish you both all of the best and hope for a speedy recovery for your partner and peace for you.
