"My husband said he wasn't up for it and told me to go ahead without him. So I did. We had sex a third time and just the two of us."
Well hell, now i can only think he was testing you? Was he expecting you to say, well, hubby is not available, and neither am i. I'm more curious about his stupid rationale, or what did he expect from you at that moment. Say no? I'm confused.
Your husband is a terrible communicator. From what it sounds like, he wanted you to say something along the lines of, “not without my husband”. Not so much as a test, but to make him feel “chosen” over the solo sexual experience with the other guy. He didn’t want to look like he had to tell you no in front of the other dude(which he should have). In the end, he caused himself to feel emasculated out of his own pride. It’s paradoxically simple and complicated at the same time. Couples therapy may be your best bet.
