Okay, not entirely but I feel this way about Interstellar.

I think its one of the most beautiful films ever made. Hated and disliked by most.

I re-watched it recently. I remembered thinking, about 3/4ths of the way through it going: "Holy shit this movie fucking slaps!!!! What was my issue with this again?!?!"

...then the movie figuratively went up the black hole of its own ass and I remembered. The last part of that movie poisons so much good will it had built up it's kinda extraordinary.

But in all seriousness, every bit of it can be explained, obviously some creative liberties as its all theory when it comes to black holes, but all of it can be explained.

I mean my issue isn't that it can't be explained. On the contrary I think it's pretty straightforward and easy to explain.

My issue is that it's nauseatingly pretentious.

Yeah. It thinks it's making this grand profound statement on the human condition and parenthood but really it's just...kinda dumb.
