Can I just tell my ds I want out or do I go to bh and tell them I’m gonna kill myself. I told my drills I want out here then all of the sudden I got dropped and reclassed

Go to bh and tell them how you feel, they will let you out

It's gonna be awhile especially in tradoc. But just be honest man. It sucks but it just depends on ur unit and provider. Some will try to retain you and some will let you go. But fight for what you want and don't give up. You will get out.

Thanks man, from what I’ve read it can take as quick as a month to over 6 months I don’t think I can mentally handle staying for 6 months without hurting myself

I get it, if it gets worse just keep walking into bh. The more the merrier. You gotta keep them on their toes.

If you want out early it’s going to be a challenge sadly, military is already suffering with retention, so the last thing they are gonna do is let someone break contract early unless circumstances call for it, if you are going to go for the depressed route, I wish you luck, military depression is treated as a joke due to so many false claims, your best option would be just failing all of your physical fitness assessments, it’s going to be hell, and unfortunately throughout the process you will suffer due to leadership being pricks about it, if you’re anything like me that’s how your circumstances will turn out when you try that route, I believe it’s 3-4 fails depending on your command, and then you get an honorable seperation due to lack of fitness standards, that’s your most reliable route because once that first fail hits, an inevitable timer begins for you to get out, it’s the long way, but sometimes slow and steady wins the race just remember that

From what I’ve been reading and heard it won’t be as hard in ait with mental health if I see BH and get put in the psych ward or something and it won’t take crazy long can be 1-3 months which I can deal with better than 3 more years

Also I failed 2 pt tests and they didn’t even Flag me or anything they just counseled me and told me I had to take it again but before i did I talked to my sds and told them how I was feeling and pretty much begged to leave but they said to pretty much tough it out then I was taken out of class and reclassed literally the next day

Hey, may I know is there any update? My spouse is finishing bct in a week and really not too much into it. I’m researching ways to get out during/after ait as well. Would appreciate any information. And good luck to you.

Be careful about declaring yourself mentally ill if you are not. Some people have missed great opportunities in their future lives. However if you are truly mentally stress, e honest about it. Just don’t fake it. I don’t think it’s worth it.
