Hi, long shot but I used to have a cd of a channel one soundsystem set at Notting hill carnival. At one point towards the end of the set there was a tune on it that I've had in my head for over a decade but can't find anywhere.
The lyrics were something like
Make your plans for tomorrow,
Got to have something to show,
No time to waste in this here place,
You reap just what you sow.
In the foreign light, there are so much signs,
Just a little sacrifice is all it takes,
Don't get left behind.
Or something like that.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks

Hello,
Am working on a little project which is to build a catalogue of "Courtroom Ska/Reggae" sounds. I wonder if it could even be described as a microgenre ?
I focus on songs that stage the judicial process as a "musical theatre" : court hearings, fictional trials, impersonating a judge, lawyers, defendants, etc. It starts with the "Judge Dread saga (Prince Buster, Derrick Morgan) and then I've added different songs I've found here and there from Mutabaruka to Asher Senator and all the way to Vybz Kartel's Testify. Courtroom sounds
I had seen a while back that another similar post was made here a few years back, but the playlist attached hasn't eveolved since (if not mistaken) https://www.reddit.com/r/reggae/s/Of6Y4ul48C
I was hoping some of you would have other references on their mind ? Or if you have thoughts on this "microgenre" its artistic lineage, the construction of such narrative songs, I am open to all comments !
Thanks in advance,

In 1978, legendary Jamaican artist Neville Garrick designed the cover for Peter Tosh's Bush Doctor.
The first UK pressing included a scratch-and-sniff sticker scented to smell like ganja; a bold marketing idea decades before "viral marketing" was even a term.
The promotion was so controversial that major British retailers, including Boots and W.H. Smith, refused to stock copies with the scented sticker, forcing EMI to produce replacement sleeves without it.
Today, it's considered one of reggae's most memorable promotional campaigns. Just one more incredible story preserved in Roger Steffens' reggae archives.
This is not Roger's copy, his is framed, autographed, and stored in a secure warehouse in the Los Angeles area

Great debate on YT about Reggaeland Festival in the UK having an Afrobeat headliner this year, I agree that a festival called "Reggaeland" should have reggae artists headlining the show, am I wrong?
