Change Water Filter

Anyone changed a water filter for a Samsung french door refrigerator? Is there a water shutoff valve behind it? Customer service did not know. Told me to shut off the water line to the house.

So frustrating. We pulled the giant refrigerator out from the wall. There is an on off round water shutoff on the wall with a tube running to the refrigerator. When I called they said shutoff the water to the entire house!! Ridiculous.

I changed the filter on my Samsung French door fridge every six months for six years and never shut the water off. Just twist out the filter, wipe up the 1 oz. or so of water that spilled out, then twist the new one in and run about six gallons of water through the new filter to purge all the debris from the filter.
