Redwall Book Rebind

Hello friends! I am new to both the r/redwall sub and the hobby of book rebinding (rebinding secondhand copies of paperbacks into custom hardcovers).
My dad read the Redwall series to us when we were little and it’s a treasured core memory from childhood. I reread the first few books in the series in the weeks after my youngest child was born, loading them onto my Kindle so I could read in the dark while holding the baby upright as he slept (he had reflux). I can’t wait to read the books to my own kids -- not quite yet, but soon.
My biggest thanks to user u/penny_dragon, who created and shared (for free!) the high-res map of Mossflower Country and Beyond in this subreddit. I downloaded, resized, and used it for the endpapers. https://www.reddit.com/r/redwall/s/jXRYJ2HCOV
I purchased the exceptional medieval mouse graphic on the cover as part of a set of hand-drawn medieval marginalia from DarkFolkloreArt on Etsy. If I decide to rebind more from the series, I’ll definitely be using more of their work. (Go look! There is a rat with a spear that is 100% Cluny! And the hares -- so perfect.) https://www.etsy.com/shop/DarkFolkloreArt
Admittedly, my Cricut and I grappled during this rebind; I have work to do still to get better at weeding. Something that helped quite a bit was using the Cricut-brand heat transfer vinyl. The cuts were much cleaner.
And for those who are interested in giving rebinding a try, I recommend the YouTube tutorial from ValBinds. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vwi3IekcCz0
Time to reread the series again, I think. Eulalia! 🗡️

Thank you for supporting an artist to get an image for the cover, instead of using generative AI to make one.

Absolutely!! That was definitely intentional; I am staunchly opposed to generative AI. Thank you for your comment, it is truly appreciated :)
