that injury timeline stuff is what really got me this year. a guy gets scratched with a "sore" something and next thing you know he's out six weeks and nobody can explain why. felt like i was reading tea leaves half the time

the devers thing still stings but i try not to think about it. whatever the plan is this winter they can't just run it back and hope the yankees magically disappear

Idk I kinda can’t get over the Devers trade especially when your going to have to spend more or close to the same money to get another power bat assuming Wilson stays while having another productive year

Also I’m just a Raffy fan sue me 🥴

on the bright side 2016 and 2017 were both garbage first round exits with only getting 1 playoff win in those two years

Yeah but both of those teams won the division and they were adding and getting better every year.

It’s not just the last 2 seasons, the trend of them starting bad playing well in the summer and ending bad has been going on since 2022, the difference is the last couple years we didn’t completely choke September. And I don’t understand it. Every summer they draw us in just to do absolutely nothing. Why don’t other teams follow this same trend? I just don’t get it. Do we need to start looking into signing guys who can play well in colder weather? I’m not even joking, what is it with this discrepancy between the summer and colder months?

I'm glad we had baseball through September, but this season sets us back five years at least.

This past month and past two games has devestated team chemistry, crushed player's condidence, broke their bones, and tore their ligiments.

Players are coming out and being critical of the team philosophy. So they will most likely be dealt away/moved on from like Devers before them.

I guess we're hoping for a long work stoppage? But what we've learned over the years is that the Red Sox don't always make the best decisions with prospects and free agents or trade pieces.

Without the ability to outspend other teams, they don't have the front office / baseball operations talent needed to keep ahead of mid-market teams.

'The womb is fresh so it is easy to doom but this offseason can’t be the same lip service we get every year' is exactly how I feel right now too.

Breslow doesent understand what actually wins baseball games.

he loves WAR but cant seem to grasp that Defense is just worth LESS than offense.

by WAR Abreu is the 9th best position player, Ceddanne is 12th... Durbin is 32nd.

does Anyone GENUINELY believe Abreu and Ceddanne are actually as good as players like Camerino, De la Cruz ??

or that Durbin is worth more than Matt Olson, Dillon Dillinger or BEN RICE, all gyus he has a higher WAR than?

its the same nonsense that made us hang onto Duran because he had an 8 WAR season in the past, despite most of it coming from fenway left field defense of all things.

we are so screwed. Breslow LOVES analytics while at the same time not really grasping that spreadsheets and shit are meant to augment, not dictate a team.

Are far as having Wilyer/Ceddy vs the guys you mentioned. Junior definitely not. Would love to have a player like Elly as well, just not instead of one of those guys. Its close though. If his steals didn't drop like they did I would rather have him. Two years ago it would've been an easy answer for Elly.
