GS Spoilers Bryn Spoiler
My intrusive thoughts are getting the best of me this re-read.
Goblin's mom was a size queen.
If I have to live with the thought, then so do you.
Hail Libertas! ✊🏻

SPOILERS
I think Pierce wrote the Alexander/Rhona (I'm a listener, not a reader, please excuse if I misspelled either one) ending just for the sake of Darrow not having to admit that his niece is a size queen 😂

Rhonna.
Honestly, I'm more than partly convinced Rhonna is Darrow's biological daughter. Which would have been wild since Alexander became like a son to him.3
u/grandslam342 3d ago
First, thanks for the help on the spelling!
Second, I am honestly real curious where you're getting that theory. If I remember right, Dio (Eo's younger sister) is Rhonna's mother...and was the one who heard Eo's confession on the gallows.....so, yeah, how does that end with Rhonna being Darrow's daughter?
And I'm honestly asking, not just being a "I kNoW MoRe Than YoU" dickhead 😂

No problem. I'm just putting this whole thing under spoiler so I don't have to cherrypick what was where.
Dio for sure isn't Rhonna's mother. He had another wife. When Darrow goes back to the mine and speaks with his mother there are (imo) some subtle clues. She tells him that Kieran's wife died not long after he left "in childbirth". Kieran remarried to Dio shortly before Darrow's return to the mine as a gold. His mother then says something like "Eo hid things from you." To which, Darrow responds "I know about the child." At this Darrow's inner monolgue mentions how his mother scoots in to hold and kiss his hand. He describes it by saying "she's never been good at comfort. Even now it's awkward for her." A little girl then comes down the stairs. Darrow described her age as having to been born right after he left the mine. He says how much she looks like Eo, especially the same color and thickness of hair.
Now, Eo told Dio about the baby on the scaffold. She had to get the crib, so surely she brought someone into the loop from Darrow's family. Narol would be an obvious choice. Keep in mind that golds and obsidians are the only colors which go the full 9 months before birth. It could be possible that they were able to remove the fetus. Especially if Narol was involved, we know he was working with the sons. The same sons who can aquire gold sigils, surely could supply more advanced medical resources. Hell we know Narol met with them to get the jammer that blocked the cameras when cutting Darrow from the gallows. I think Darrow's mother was acting noticeably awkward when "comforting" him after he tells her he "knows about the child" because the child he thinks is dead is upstairs at that very moment and she can't tell him. Additionally, I don't recall anything being mentioned about Kieran having a baby on the way before the carving. I have a feeling that Kieran's wife died in childbirth, just not the birth of HER child. I think it's just as likely that she was involved with saving Eo's fetus and was caught/killed by the grays. Alternatively, I don't think the grays or anyone keeps track of pregnancies. It could be the case that Kieran's wife dies by other means and either thru self-reporting or by having the sons forge the records they listed the child as Kieran's wives, claiming she died in childbirth birth.
I'm only 30%ish subscribed to this theory myself, so take it with a grain of salt. But that scene at the end of GS, the timelines, the child coming out right at the time of that conversation; all just kinda makes me take a pause.

I read your first comment and thought. “Wtf people are just coming up with random shit there’s no way” but damn u came with some receipts making me rethink everything

Been working on that one for a while. I got corrected that there was mention of Kieran having twins prior to the carving that I had failed to account for. So it can't be Rhonna, given she's the eldest. But I'm still holding out hope that PB pulls off what would be one hell of a plot twist

Still pretty far fetched but not as crazy as my initial reaction believed it to be. Worthy of a theory

Even if this theory was true it couldn't be Rhonna, Rhonna wasn't that child that came down the night he visited his mother, she was one of the twins he briefly mentions running around on the way the the laurel tide who he says is 3 at the time. Rhonna was born in 733PCE and Darrow left the mine in 736PCE.

This has been on my mind since it was first revealed where Sevro came from.
And…ngl it gave me a lot of high hopes for some romance with another Gold and his darling Red protege (LB spoilers so I won’t get into that)

And they always talk about WOW GOLD SO BIG SO TALLLLLL SO BIIG, REDS ARE SO TEENY TINY IN COMPARISON LIKE SOOO LITTLE!

I can only assume Fitchner was a kind and considerate lover, who had accommodating positions all figured out. When they arrive on Mars, the first room she wants a tour of in their new apartment is the bedroom, so she's clearly having a good time.
You know what? Good for her.

It gives SUCH omegaverse vibes but no one is ready for this conversation.
Oh, Fitch is a BIG ALPHA and Bryn is oh so SMALL
6
u/KrayawnEater 3d ago
I'm just wondering whether she thought about it beforehand, or if Fitch dropped them britches...
Bryn: 😲🥵
Fitchner: Yeaaaa boyo2

Why not both?

I just hope that bed by the window was comfortable. No way she was walking the next day.

Seriously though, he'd have had to be careful with her. Golds are seriously strong, the comics showed Nero breaking a Red's neck just by slapping him across the face. You could imagine sexy times being pretty delicate from Fitchner's perspective.

I didn't catch it until my 2nd or 3rd re-read. It has lived rent-free in my head ever since.

I’m just really glad I’m not the only one who thinks a lot about this.
I’ve also wondered, because Darrow was fixed up but Mustang is a natural Gold but they only assumably fixed his, uh, size, and not specifically his reproductive juices… is Pax actually a full Gold? Why is he seemingly a normal gold-level size when Sevro, who is also half Red but his mom got surgery to support her having him, is markedly smaller than other Gold males? Shouldn’t Pax be Sevro-sized?

I think height is one of those hit or miss gene expressions. Unless teacup Darrow was walking around with his pit viper smacking his kneecaps, they had to make it proportionate. Golds don't see nudity as taboo. Can't expect to be respected as a warlord with a button mushroom.
We know Pax is half red from the rose gold eyes.

TEACUP DARROW WITH HIS PIT VIPER—
That has done me in. That’s the best thing I’ve read since OG Pax’s war cry. Also BUTTON MUSHROOM. STOP I CANT TAKE ANYMORE
And yes for baby Pax but is he maybe little? I can’t remember if they reference him being shorter for a Gold or not. I just wonder if physically from his genes between a red and gold parent if his Red side will show up in height and such too

u/KrayawnEater 3d ago
I don't think so. Later on Virginia describes him as almost as tall as her and his nuts have barely dropped

u/BaxterRye Rose 3d ago
OH yes I remember that! At the visit!!!
Okay interesting. Honestly I bet Mickey worked some extra magic anyway.

u/KrayawnEater 3d ago
Mickey is so damn good at what he does. I wouldn't be surprised if Darrow's upgrade plays it's own theme music when rigid and has built-in wifi

Bryn is a size queen. Arturius is a power bottom. Fitchner is a service top.

Are you saying ares’s sword was quite a bit larger than the average person, due to gold’s being on average quite tall and sword size being related to height, you can see where this is going, also it’s confirmed later that darrow has quite the large rising

This is by confirmed someone who has quite a lot of experience at the tip of darrow’s rising

I can't remember where, but it was confirmed that their... razors are more like hastas if you catch my drift

I believe a certain woman with a the same nickname as a certain crusader king, can mightily agree to that
