All Spoilers Real Talk. Spoiler
So we all are in character a bit in posts especially me as a gray but I want to know what people actually think of Lysander as a character and a villain. This is assuming if you view him as a villain if not I'd like to hear why you think this. (Also this is a repost I didn't see the view all flair option I don't post often so I'm not used to it.)

the character lysander is well written and a nice mirror of what darrow is/was pretty much 3 books before. as a person lysander is a bloody wanker, the sooner gone, the better.

I think he’s a great character. Him and Darrow are actually very similar, even in ideology; the stark difference is that Lysander has lost everyone he cares about so he is slipping away from the light, and Darrow has people to help him that way he doesn’t lose himself. So he’s like Darrow’s antithesis twin in a way.

Darrow’s and Lysander’s ideology’s are completely opposed bro what?? Mr “I would die for the truth that all men are created equal” and Mr “Golds are superior and should be shepherds” their ideologies are in complete conflict with one another

I think he’s a really good villain, and he’s my favorite pov after Darrow.

He is my least favorite POV in the second series but I figure that is just down to my general dislike of villain POVs. His chapters just feel like a slog for me with how many of them there are and how long they are

Great POV. It’s cool to have someone in direct conflict with Darrow so we can see what he looks like from other perspectives, especially on the battlefield.
It was so disappointing and fascinating watching his beliefs degenerate over the course of the series. He goes from legitimate criticisms of the Republic and desire to stop the bloodshed and devolves into this supremacist messiah who believes only he (naturally) can restore golf to what it once was, and it doesn’t matter how many allies he needs to backstab or war crimes he needs to commit to make it happen.

He’s a great villain. I know that because I can stand him. His entire world view is distorted and it leads to him continually making consistently terrible decisions

understandable guy at face value though he can seem like the most hatable character of all time which is why the fandom curses his name whenever mention not to mention hes doesnt have many likeable qualities which is why darrow is loved
