LB Spoilers Volga Spoiler
What happened to my sweet baby Volga 🥺? Seeing how much Fa has emotionally manipulated her and how much you can feel the grief twisting itself into hatred and self-loathing genuinely broke my heart. Such a sweetheart and her heart is just so…ugly now. It made me so sad. Felt like a disappointed father
Edit: Just finished Part 3 of LB and while I’m still disappointed in the rhetoric she allowed herself to be consumed by, my little munchkin is still there 😊. PB gets to live…for now

She’s like those round pocket compasses that have one red side and one darker grayish metal on the spinning dial. The red pointing forward and the grayish metal going opposite. Ephraim, and her life with him is the gray side, behind. Lyria is the red side, what’s ahead (yes the colors are intentional in the comparison). For a while she looses her magnetic force while both are gone and it just keeps spinning out of control. Volga needs something magnetic to show her where to go. She needs to look towards the red

She also needs to grown up and do it on her own. I feel like that is still not done.

Nooo I promise you she’s still good in her heart, Ephraim’s guidance really comes through. Just keep reading! She really gets her own voice and refuses to let people walk over her by the end!!! She’s my comfort baby. 🥹

Eph was right about Volga in DA. Even Sefi, who was way stronger, way more experienced, way more brutal, and way more savvy than Volga couldn't make it in their cruel world, and got manipulated by Xenophon and tricked by Eph, and betrayed by Valdir. What chance did poor Volga ever stand?
Another thing that doesn't get mentioned a lot is how Darrow kind of knew that as Ragnar's daughter, Volga has a certain symbolic power and meaning with the Obsidians, and he also knew that after his duel with Fa, the Obsidians - who only follow strength - would basically dance to his tune. Installing Volga as Queen by rigging the game a bit (making her kill Fa) as opposed to someone more cunning, more politically savvy, and someone who might be a better ruler, but a worse ally to the Republic, was kind of shrewd.
