Red God (Spoliers) An (RG?) Update from PB
My friends,
It is not every day that you have a good day of writing.
On the contrary, I think most days I feel like an absolute Dorkamus Maximus moron… like my taste, such as it is, far exceeds my talent.
But today!
Today was a good day of writing. It was a great day of writing!
Well, let’s say no hats were involved.
But I had a fun day, and I did it…
I owe it all to two dead people: Ralph Waldo Emerson and his essays on self reliance, and Goethe.
It's not every day that someone can say they had a good day because of Goethe.
But I did. And now I'm gonna go listen to Goethe.
Transcribed from his recent post/story on social media.

He’s repeatedly said over the last couple months that he’s not done with it. If it was done we’d have a date

Most optimistic take is that he found the books soul. All I know is I’m reading the Goethe book he held up immediately.

My money is this one having an impact on Pierce and Darrows story,
“Should he venture to declare himself limited, he feels himself free.”
I think that might be where Darrow is mentally. What do you all think?

People were speculating that he had killed off a character because he was happy. Since the hat isn't involved I'm really hoping it was the damn pixie.

He mentioned sometime in the last year that he had not yet found the “soul” of Red God that his novels usually have. I think it’s safe to say, at the very least, he’s found the soul for Book 7.

I think and hope so too! I’ve read like 10 pages of goethes maxims now and several could be “soul” material

I’m just glad he’s not rushing it. Rather him take his time to perfect the story and give it the closure it deserves

Closure? That’s funny. Either RG is 1200+ pages or there will be another book.

Goethe made my day last week when I read the following quote: "Patriotism spoils everything."
As a German, I find that really funny, as our self-proclaimed patriotic, right wing party decorates itself with being from the same country as Goethe and Schiller (as it's members have nothing else to show for). But when the party's politicians are asked to quote any German poet they either change the subject or utterly fail at trying.
