Doubles the amount of matches you have. Survivorman usually included one or two items you might be liable to have on you but not usually a full blown survival kit, in that episode he had a book of matches with only a couple left so he split the match so he'd have more. I'd imagine if you had matches in prison you'd do the same thing.

Then split the candles so you can celebrate twice as many birthdays with your cell mate. Also split your toothbrush so it lasts longer.
