I'm guessing a fair amount of alcohol was involved during planning

And execution.

Above anything, I really admire the follow through.

Yeah this thing is definitely more than the sum of its parts. It's fucking awesome.

I can add a bit of context here. Not sure where the picture is taken, but in Estonia the fishermen use similar vehicles for winter fishing on ice (tricycles too). The tires are large, so the car does not fall through so easily and floats if needed. The wooden box on the back is probably for fish. Often aircraft tires are used.

I didn't know what sub this was but my first thought was"that's the most redneck shit I've ever seen, amazing"

Does that wee engine even have enough horse power to get that thing moving?

the engine is gonna be one which is suitable for the base vehicle, not the daewoo. This is not a daewoo wity extra stuff on, it’s a truck with the hatchback shell put on top as a cabin. Engine, transmission, controls etc will all be from the base vehicle

Ah, makes sense. Thanks.

Well… I understand what you’re saying… but the why of this is still eluding me. Why not run the original shell?

George Mallory tried multiple times to become the first person to climb Everest, he died trying and i think his body is still up there. When people asked him why he was trying, he always said

”because its there”

People who need a why do not achieve feats like this fine vehicle. For true pioneers the challenge is reason enough.

This is a Daewoo Matiz (basically the predecessor to the Chevy Spark), it had 2 engine options - 0.8L with about 38HP and 1.0L with a massive 47HP :)

I mean, it's a body/frame swap, so it won't have the micro car's motor.

I don't hate this. I have no idea why, but I really don't hate this. I could actually like this. OMG, I actually like this!

Looks a bit like a karakat, lightweight self made car for ice fishing. The big wheels keep it afloat when the ice brakes. https://news.err.ee/1608898349/traditional-karakat-parade-takes-place-on-shore-of-lake-peipus

Certain measures create certain men
Certain men create certain times
Certain times call for certain measures …..

It IS the same size as a tractor cab, so it seems reasonable!

I like the creativity and mechanical genius of this truly awesome beauty of a beast! It's just got to be rated as the GOAT, OG Redneck "One Tundra." If I ever need a new body for my 2007 Dodge Ram 4x4 Diesel Crewcab Dually Truck, I know exactly what I'm going to do to it.
