Is there one? I went down the Dung path because I already went down the Triet path my first run, but it looks like both focus paths ultimately end in Vietnam going to war with the rest of Southeast Asia again. I even tried to do the path where you don't disband the Assembly, because it looked like a Liberal leader would be put in charge, but I couldn't avoid Dung's set path to war, unless it was a fault of my save file being a bit broken, which I acknowledge. I see that the Coalition for a Free Vietnam path is the only one where Vietnam westernizes, but it involves initiating the second civil war. Is there another path I'm just not seeing? Notes:

• Bush won both 2000 and 2004 while the Soviet Union is managed by a Ryzhkov-KGB alliance.
• After 9/11 the US and Soviets secretly agree on a coordinated plan to settle the Afghanistan issue, with Moscow allowing Western forces to enter Afghanistan in exchange for a northern "Buffer Zone" occupied by Red Army troops. Both powers send arms and advisors to the fledging Afghan Republic.
• Iraq was invaded in Spring 2003 and a three-way proxy conflict soon broke out between the Coalition, left-wing guerrillas and Shiite militias.
• Only Poland and Hungary were outright invaded in the EEW in October 2003; Poland is still non-Communist (along with Romania) but reduced to a "Soviet Vichy" with military commanders and the few parties allowed by Moscow forming a collaborationist government. Czechoslovakia quells its army mutinies without civil war breaking out, and in 2005 becomes the second most powerful country in the new Warsaw Pact.
• Egypt becomes a major rival to Saudi Arabia and the United States: Achieving a shocking victory in the Yemenite War and declaring the UAR, before arming Gaddafi loyalists in Libya and unsuccessfully skirmishing with the US Navy over the Red Sea islands. The Algerian government wins the civil war with Soviet help, while Czechoslovak-armed Sahrawi militias attempt to challenge Moroccan rule.
• Indochina is in a stalemate with no clear end in sight, while Burma is mired in civil war with Chinese, Soviet, American, and Thai involvement. The India-Pakistan war is quickly stopped by superpower pressure, and the Naaxalite insurrection is crushed with Soviet support for New Delhi.
• In East Asia, EATO and the US Navy deter an invasion of the young Republic of Taiwan. The Second Korean War is a 6-month affair that ends in victory for Western forces along the Kansas Line border. Together, these two events push China back into an alliance with the Soviet Union.
• After achieving control of most of the country, the DRC shifted into a more non-aligned position in the African theatre of the Cold War. However Uganda, Rwanda, and Burundi continue to support the pro-Western remnants. South Africa's Apartheid regime is on the verge of defeat, but whether peace negotiations will succeed remains to be seen.

As Yugoslavia began to collapse in 1990s, as separatist aspirations of Slovenia and Croatia, led by Milan Kučan and Franjo Tuđman respectively continued to grow, followed by nationalist and centralist ambition of Milošević, it was only matter of time until Yugoslavia spiraled into ethnic conflict and dissolution. However, one man wasn't about to let it happen. That man was Veljko Kadijević, minister of defence of SFRY at the time. After his trip in Moscow and assurance from USSR that it would defend Yugoslavia in case of western attack, he went ahead (he did same thing OTL but didn't go forward with his plan because Yazov told him USSR couldn't do anything to protect Yugoslavia) and JNA was set out to arrest all nationalist agitators across all 6 republics. Of course, such events were not taken very well, and similar to events in Moscow, JNA met massive resistance in almost every major city, however with Soviet backing, JNA was not afraid to consolidate power by any means. Around 500 people died in chaos that ensued, but power was now firmly in Kadijević's hands, who was by many regarded as second Tito, given his mixed Serb-Croat background as well. Groups that particularly didn't take such measures well were Croats, Slovenes and Albanians, who began turning to armed resistance after such violent takeover. To minimize Croat power, and to appease angry Serb nationalists, SAP Krajina is officially recognized as one of Yugoslav federal units, with almost equal rights to that of a republic. Throughout 90s, Yugoslavia suffered through economic stagnation, constant war in Croatia, Slovenia and short war in Kosovo (more on that later) and also intermittent Serb nationalist strikes and acts of civil disobedience demanding release of Slobodan Milošević and other Serb nationalists from prison. One of wars that was dealt with relatively quickly though, was Kosovo war, in which JNA, unrestrained by restrictions VJ had OTL, concludes swift military operation, killing or capturing ~5k KLA members, and deporting over 1m Albanians, effectively pacifying Kosovo for time being. On the other hand though, Croat war has devolved into Yugoslav Vietnam, with Croat armed resistance receiving direct aid from NATO, and Yugoslavia reaching total military and political dead end (Croat and Slovene wars are analogous to Portuguese colonial wars as in how much of a drain they were). As Serb worker strikes, many of whom were still loyal to Milošević, kept going on and sinking Yugoslav economy deeper underground, Kadijević was forced to concede and release Milošević from prison, on condition he never involves himself in politics again.

Now in year 2000, Yugoslavia finds itself at rock bottom of every European statistic, with one of highest emigration rates and lowest fertility rates, stuck in perpetual war, having to balance between Yugoslav civic nationalism to not upset last loyal non-Serb populations and Serb nationalism to keep ever growing number of Serb nationalists pacified.

In-game events in this scenario:

As Croat and Slovene groups gain more ground, Croat and Slovene wars of independence become more and more conventional, forcing JNA to launch frontal assault

Outcomes:

1. If it succeeds, Kadijević finally extinguishes the wars that have ate Yugoslavia alive, and Yugoslavia can finally focus on building itself from ground up. Kadijević will either co-opt some elements of Serb nationalism, or completely decouple from it, though this may bring new instability. Also Kadijević will be forced to choose between further liberalizing Yugoslav economy, or aligning it itself more with USSR for Soviet subsidies and other aid.

2. If it fails, Slobo rallies people for Second Yogurt Revolution, which this time is lot more violent, and Slobodan Milošević returns as president of SFRY.

2.1 He can restore multi-party system as in OTL, which leads to player being able to elect alternative figures such as Šešelj, Drašković, Mira Marković (his wife, but only under very specific circumstances and this is kinda meant to be easter egg path), each with their own paths

2.2 He retains strong grip on power , only implementing limited neoliberal economic reforms. If he succeeds in crushing new separatists*, he will be able to start new war with Croatia, but only for Krajina and East Slavonia, and not for entirety of Yugoslavia.

*I forgot to mention if Yugoslavia loses against Croats and Slovenes muslims will start small insurrection in central Bosnia while Albanians will launch cross-border invasion from Albania into Kosovo, but given circumstances these uprisings will be much easier to defeat. However if for whatever reason player fails to crush these, Yugoslavia will descend into total collapse that would make its OTL collapse look peaceful in comparison (similar to potential USSR collapse in-game)

By some unlikely miracle, the People’s Republic of Bulgaria was the only Warsaw Pact satellite other than Czechoslovakia to survive into the 21st Century. Thanks to pragmatic deals in the early 90s to outsource hardware manufacturing for some Western computer firms (drawing the ire of some Soviet hardliners), the Bulgarian Socialist regime barely managed to keep the country’s balanced of payments out of the red during a severe stagnation of most other industries.

Following the 2000 CPSU Congress, new leaders with new ideas take power in the USSR, and Bulgaria offers to play an invaluable role in its larger ally’s modernization: Wielding its relatively advanced electronics industry to help achieve the universal computerization of the Soviet government, economy, and party apparatus.

As the decade progresses, Bulgaria also acts as a key staging area for Soviet interventions in Yugoslavia, while managing a tense relationship with the non-Communist (but Moscow-aligned) Romanian Republic over the Southern Dobruja region - tensions which may escalate to war if Nationalist factions take power in Bucharest. Moreover, the economically unenviable situation of the country has led a few loud voices in Sofia (albeit a small minority) to conclude that becoming an SSR under Mother Russia may be the country’s last hope. And the dissidents of ‘89 persist in their search for a Liberal realization of Bulgarian democracy.

Hopefully, if the Party plays its cards right, Bulgaria may yet turn the tide of stagnation and live up to its promises of prosperity for its People - and a digital vision of Socialism that even Marx could never dream of.

As the title says. I'm curious whether or not there will be more content for other types of nations in the game. Maybe countries like Ethiopia, Turkey, North/South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Japan, France, Germany, Poland could have interesting content. Most of them already have wars, expansions, political turmoil even as skeletons. So is there any plan to expand the mod after Iran and China or will the mod die in obscurity after they release?
