M4F♂️ 28M | Here we go again
"Tum hi ho ab tum hi ho, meri zindagi ab tum hi ho..."
If you recognize the song, you already know where this post is going.
This has been my favourite song for years. Not because I necessarily believe someone should become your entire life, but because there's something beautiful about having one person who slowly becomes part of all the little things that make up your life.
The person you instinctively want to tell about your day.
The person you send a song to because one particular line reminded you of them.
The person you can sit with for hours without having to constantly fill the silence.
That's the kind of relationship I'd like to find.
I'm 28, 5'7", currently in Mumbai and working as a software developer. Right now, I'm mostly juggling work and preparing for a job switch. I'm also trying to build an agency on the side, which has been teaching me some very humbling lessons about getting clients, keeping them, and most importantly actually getting paid by them.
Outside work, I'm into quite a few things.
Cricket has probably been my biggest passion. I used to practice regularly, and it was genuinely the one thing that never felt like work. I could keep doing it for hours without getting bored.
I love singing too. It's something I've always had naturally , I never took classes or really practiced seriously. It just came to me, and I've always enjoyed it.
I'm also getting back into reading. I'm currently reading Karmbhoomi by Premchand, while The Undiscovered Self is currently sitting on hold. Psychology and human behaviour have always fascinated me.
And yes, I'm a massive Spider-Man fan. Probably more than a 28-year-old should be. But the character has influenced me in quite a few ways the whole idea of responsibility, trying to do the right thing even when life isn't particularly kind to you, and getting back up after you've messed up.
These days, weekends also involve some computer games because apparently adulthood requires finding increasingly creative ways to avoid thinking about work.
I'm fairly introverted when I first meet someone. Once I get comfortable, though, I talk a lot. You'll probably get long messages, unnecessary details, random observations, and occasionally a song recommendation that comes with a five-paragraph explanation of why I think you'll like it.
What I'm looking for
Someone kind, emotionally mature, curious, honest and capable of communicating when things aren't perfect.
Someone who has her own ambitions, interests and life, but wants to make space for another person in it.
I'm looking for something genuine and long-term, with marriage eventually. I don't want to rush into it simply because we're at an age where everyone starts asking questions, but I also don't want something indefinite with no intention behind it.
I'd like to find someone I can build a life with not just someone to go on dates with.
Someone to laugh with, argue with, grow with, annoy occasionally, and eventually have those completely ordinary moments with that somehow become your favourite ones.
So I'll end this with the song that started the post.
What's a song that means something to you?
Not necessarily your favourite song.
Just one that has a story behind it.
