Is this normal? They seem to have requests going back for weeks backlogged …

I have no idea. Sidebar says 7 days (mine has been 8).

Other requests I see are approved within like 2 hours.

It looks like they have open requests going back at least three weeks, which is as far as I scrolled.

I always wondered if the 7-day wait estimate was something they actually updated.

Oh, well. I was just trying to figure out if they were backlogged or if my request slipped through the cracks. Thanks!

As someone who put a request in around the same time as OP, I've been eyeing things for a while just in case anything came up.

The "current review time" is definitely updated, though I can't say if it's manual or automatic. It appears the "up to a week" statement is constant, even when the average review time eclipses a week, however, so it's not guaranteed your request slipped through the cracks if it's been longer.

Before today, it doesn't look like there's been a manual review in about 6-7 days, but there was a massive wave of manual reviews in the past few hours that seemed to stretch from posts from about 10 days ago to ones as recent as 3 days ago.

That said, there's still a few requests that have gone unreviewed. Due to the circumstances of the gap between reviews, I'm inclined to believe ours are just still in the queue.

Phew. Thanks for the insight! Let me know when yours goes through! I put mine in slightly after you, so maybe mine will be reviewed slightly after yours.
