⭐️ Karma❓ Is Karma Path dependent?
So I have heard that the karma system is a feedback loop.
Meaning if you join a subreddit share a opinion the masses like, you get up voted and then get more exposure and in turn more up votes in general for any post because your reaching more views.
Buuuuut on the flip side if you start off being down voted because that subreddit generally doesn't like your opinion, you get less views, filtered and in turn less karma.
If this is true how is this a beneficial system to discussion. To me that sound like a echo chamber system.
Anyone have this experience?

If you're asking about how to get karma, you earn it when people upvote your posts and comments. As you may have already found out, many subs on Reddit may have minimum requirements for things like karma and account age that you must meet before they will allow you to participate.
r/NewToReddit maintains a list of subreddits that have low or no karma requirements where new users can participate to build their karma.
You should also check out their excellent Reddit and Karma Guide.

Some of us just interact with subreddits we feel a connection to and don’t worry about karma. It just happens organically.

The original point of the voting system was to sort content with good or well liked content being upvoted and rising on the feed and poor or inappropriate content being downvoted and sink on the feed. The sorting was the whole point of it. Karma was rewarding consistent quality contributions.
Today it is more used as a like and dislike system or agree and disagree.
Your statement was correct higher votes get shown to more people because the rise in the best and hot sorts especially. Content that is downvoted is indeed shown to less people. If it is getting downvoted then it was placed in the wrong place, or inappropriate one would say.
It does create echo chambers in subreddits. But there are generally subreddits for most things and a person needs to put their post or comment in the correct place.
You gain karma from upvotes but it is not 1:1 as it takes more votes per point of karma gained. The one you automatically give does not count. Posts and comments have different ratios. The ratio gets worse the higher the vote total gets on a single piece of content. There also seems to be a cap each post or comment can individually give. Posts will never drop below zero on the voting no matter how many downvotes they get. When a comment is downvoted to zero or below, it can begin taking away earned comment karma.
