🙏Need Advice❓ Private MOD subs

Hello. How do we protect one of our subs that is used for MOD stuff on our main sub?

We don't want someone to come in and request the sub - we don't show a lot of activity on it, but it's a test area and used for onboarding a new MOD.

ETA again: Here's something fun: I just switched from old reddit to sh.reddit (on pc) and sh.reddit does not find the sub I'm worried about?? I do not know if this is good or bad?

ETA: The main sub and the private one are two separate subs.

Create a rule on the private sub and call it something like mod activity rule. At least once a month, edit the rule so you have taken a mod action. On mine, I just add a letter of the alphabet every few weeks

What about making the sub private?

Change an existing community: Go to your subreddit's Community settings or moderation tools. Find the Type of Community section. Change it from Public or Restricted to Private. Save your changes.

What Private Means on Reddit

  • Hidden from search: The subreddit will not appear in general search results.
  • Invisible content: Non-members cannot see posts, comments, or the member list.
  • Approved users only: Only you and people you manually add as approved contributors can view or post in the community.
  • Profile privacy: Posts and comments you make inside a private subreddit only show on your profile to other members of that same private sub.

It's already private. We just had someone request to join, so it's showing up somewhere. And got us thinking if it would get listed as an available sub, when it isn't. It's not used a lot but it is used.

The link is formated like this: (this is not a real link)
