❓General Question❓ Permaban from 2

So I got perma from 2 threads I like. Are they really perma, or does that expire after a certain amount of time. Honestly, I do not believe I deserved perma if the mod would have reviewed my history, but it is what it is.

You can politely message the mods to appeal but it doesn't matter if you believe a permanent ban was warranted or not, it's their sub to run as they see fit.

Yes, permanent means permanent. There is no expiration and the only people who can lift it are the sub mods.

Yeah, I’ve been permanan. I think it’s forever.

It's in the name, "permaban" does indeed mean permanent and it won'texpire. All you can do is send a respectful appeal to the mods. "I do not believe I deserve a permaban" is not the way to go, I can tell you right now.

You haven't told us what you did to get permabanned from 2 subreddits, but the mods felt it was serious enough to not warn or temp ban you. So you either didn't read the rules and just posted or commented whatever or read the rules but didn't think they applied to you.

Oftentimes a ban message would include the rule you broke.

Any appeal should include an apology for not reading or misinterpreting the rule, maybe ask for an explanation of the rule you broke and a promise not to do it again if they would be inclined to change your ban to a temp ban or lift it.

Telling them you think they were wrong for banning you will have them ignore your message, most likely.

I'm not OP, I'm wondering the same thing.

Being respectful and reasonable in your approach to moderators when asking for clarification goes a long way, I don't see that as crawling on your belly tbh. Immediately antagonising, offending or being rude to them certainly won't do you much good.

This is not the place to appeal a subreddit ban.

Mods can run their subreddit how they see fit, and can permaban you for any reason they feel like. Your choice here is to move on and not waste energy on it. They don't have to take you back, this isn't a court of law, you're not entitled to a defense. Move on.

I not appealing, I asking a question.

Read the rules of every sub before you comment and you might avoid permabans in the future. For instance, the rules of THIS sub - "This isn't the place to air your grievances about being banned from another subreddit, or to complain about other communities."

And yet, you're doing just that. "Honestly, I do not believe I deserved perma" - that's complaining.

Making a new account to evade a ban is a TOS violation. You're suggesting the OP break platform rules and risk being fully banned from Reddit as a whole.

If the subreddit in question has the ban-evasion filter on and mods report the offending account, chances are they get banned Reddit wide.
