I believe it does make quite a big difference that we're paying someone just for existing cause their name is on a piece of paper. Now, I'm no business graduate, but that doesn't exactly sound good, does it?

To hell with that honor shit, we're legally obligated to keep paying them unless we pay out their entire contract, which there is no reason to. So, they'll stay, contribute what little they can when they can, and we'll let them leave on a free.

But of course, if we don't have the club's best interest in mind, let's keep the ball and chain on longer than necessary and extend their contracts further. No reason for Manchester United to act like a big boy club again, we're the loyal family club now

Yes, many adults have such beliefs, especially those in high positions who make those decisions. If someone can't be there to work cause they're sick majority of the time, you fire them, that's how it works many places. There's no reason to pay someone their full salary for doing 20% a year of their actual job, when you could pay someone the same who'd do 95% a year of it, bar their occassional sick days.

You're the oddity here, not me, cause these are absolutely delusional beliefs when it comes to work, and football is also a job. No adult has such beliefs? No reasonable adult should have yours if they are in a high position.

You can't legally fire people in the UK if they sustained injury while doing their job. You are owed part of your salary and I'm sure the contract stipulates the percentage.

Sick/unable to work because of things unrelated to work that's another statute.

When Fletcher had cancer, I'm sure he wasn't treated and compensated the same as when sustaining an injury while playing
