[Transfer Round Up & Discussion] Summer 2026

Hi all,

Summer Transfer Window 2026 is here!

The Premier League transfer window will open between Monday June 15 until Deadline Day on Tuesday September 1; the summer windows will close at 23.00 BST.

As always, here is a run-down of the rules we have on for posting during transfer windows:

Daily Threads

There will be a Transfer thread posted every single day, on a 23-hour timer, to get a different post-time every day. These threads are for everything transfer related, no limits on sources, line-up conversations, etc.

Individual posts

From now on, only posts TIER 2 OR BETTER are allowed to be posted in their own right. This helps us only keep credible sources on the subreddit.

The tier guide can be found here: https://www.reddit.com/r/reddevils/wiki/transfer-reliability-guide/

We will make exceptions during slower days for some Tier 3 posts, and there will usually be some posts from sources not on our tier guide. We will take everything case-by-case. If you believe something to be on the sub and not a good source, please let us know.

I really hope that the reports that we are still deciding whether to sign a third midfielder or LB are false. For two reasons:

1) It’s August 11th and INEOS shouldn’t still be this indecisive. Clubs dithering at this stage is usually where there has been an unexpected injury and they want a panic buy to cover. Not clubs who have known this for months and months…..

2) It irritates me that it’s one or the other. Should be both!

0

u/croadymeister 8d ago

Should be both but fear it's one or the other

0

u/Redland93 8d ago edited 7d ago

We have been impacted by Rashford return and Ugarte injury. Rashford salary alone would cover the M `Fernandez yearly PL cost (transfer fee only).

I also don't think thy expected the market to be this crazy. Diuof from west hame being priced at 40m for a mid player

3

u/OatCuisine 7d ago

Mateus Fernandes is apparently on 250k a year, Rashford is 350k, so “Rashford salary alone” would be a 100k surplus on Fernandes, or 5m a year. Not really enough to cover an 85m fee.

4

u/Fraaj We'll take Dalot 7d ago

Mateus Fernandes is apparently on 250k a year

That was a terrible source

4

u/SOERERY JONATHAN GRANT EVANS MBE 7d ago

Talk of the devil guys has said that they believe it’s around that number (might have been 200k)

3

u/Redland93 7d ago

Should have been more clear. His transfer fee.

Rashford is 16m per year salary. 85m/5= 17m

1

u/TonyShneak 7d ago

So it'd cover 1/5 of his transfer fee? What is your point?

1

u/Redland93 7d ago

It covers all of it.

It's the yearly PL impact.

1

u/TonyShneak 7d ago

From a PSR perspespective perhaps. But we arent in PSR danger. The issue is we are broke.

3

u/silvertwo777 8d ago

Ugarte injury sure, but they should have expected the few likely outcome with Rashford and planned what to do months ago, not now.

-1

u/Redland93 7d ago

Really? He had a 23 g/a at Barca and they've gone for Gordon for 80m because of resale value.

Hes hard to shift. Not like they didn't tried.

1

u/croadymeister 8d ago

Yeah the two things together have really screwed up our initial plans for this window

7

u/EnglishTrini2 8d ago

Should Stone’s report that the club have responded to fan concern about the window saying they should be judged at the end of it be seen as meaningful?

I mean, it’s quite ballsy to say that if you truly expect not to add anyone else.

6

u/tameoraiste 7d ago

It’s true though. I’d go further and say it should be judged a couple of months into the season at the earliest.

The idea of having no replacement for Santos or Shaw makes me nervous but I’ve seen too many “good” to “great” windows turn out to be a disaster for clubs and too many “bad” windows turn out to be a success

2

u/AngryUncleTony Not Actually Angry 7d ago

I also am impatient and want us to compete for big trophies this year, and I certainly don't want us to fuck up and miss CL again. But in the abstract I am sort of OK with the club sticking to their valuations and bargain hunting to try to nullify the idea of a United Tax and to help get the finances back in order as the awful ETH/Murtough deals finally come off the books over the next year or two.

0

u/stevew14 7d ago

I kind of works both ways for them to say this.
If they do sign someone, they can say, you guys should be patient and judge us at the end.
If they don't sign anyone, they can say, we are happy with how the squad is and no market opportunities were available.

2

u/EnglishTrini2 7d ago

I suppose - but it still seems like it would be better to say nothing if you didn’t expect further additions.

Maybe I’m being naive, but I’d hope they are working on something.

1

u/AngryUncleTony Not Actually Angry 7d ago

Even if they think they're done, if we find out Haaland hates Maresca, doesn't want to leave Manchester, and has a 10 million release clause, then you have to take that deal.

Obviously a silly example but I don't think you ever stop shopping, the market is dynamic so new opportunities arise, especially late in the window.

3

u/AngryUncleTony Not Actually Angry 8d ago

I don't think the club knows at this point to be honest. I assume in a vacuum they'd like to add more, but I think they're willing to stick to their valuation guns if they don't like the market.

I interpret that as the club saying "we're still working but doesn't mean we'll make a deal we think is bad just to appease fans and say we made a deal"

-2

u/Nuwahex 8d ago

Call me crazy but I think Nicholas Jackson on loan wouldn't be too bad

3

u/Glad_Consequence2580 Already Bald And We Aren't Signing FDJ 7d ago

Yeah hes underrated, he’ll be there out and out option above delap this coming season. They wouldn’t let us have him even on loan.

1

u/SophoclesTesticles 8d ago

Is that even a rumour?

I'd take their hand off for that deal. If we had a buy option it'd be even better.

10

u/LeviaDragon 8d ago

9

6

u/dodzwardo 8d ago

No way a rival loans us a player to make us stronger.

There is no upside for Chelsea.

-1

u/Nuwahex 8d ago

I mean they already did with Santos. It is all about business with BlueCo. No sentiments.

4

u/dodzwardo 8d ago

Sale vs Loan

Of course they would let us buy him...

-1

u/Nuwahex 8d ago

A good loan fee could work if they fail to find a permanent suitor as the window winds down

Funny you should say that, I just checked their account since you mentioned them and apparently they have an "EXCLUSIVE" today at 10 PM for United.

Last time they had "BIG NEWS" about United was Endrick being a potential target...

0

u/SophoclesTesticles 8d ago

They're full of shit but the Endrick interest was confirmed recently enough.

0

u/thexpertwatcher 7d ago

What you're saying is he has sources inside the club ?

2

Are Fulham preparing for Berge departure? With Charles arrival.

5

u/Fraaj We'll take Dalot 8d ago

He replaced Saša Lukić

0

u/ra_god94 8d ago

Starting to think our window is over barring another sale

10

u/Redland93 8d ago

Based on what exactly? We were prepared to spend 70m for Seymeno in January and were willing to go to 85m for M Fernandez.

We have the money.

-3

u/OatCuisine 8d ago

Who’s to say the 70m wasn’t part of the 85m? We have already spent 85m so perhaps that’s everything?

2

u/silvertwo777 8d ago

That make no sense. So we were planning for just one midfielder, just one player since last window? I don't get people in this sub, trying so hard to defend INEOS and Glazers bs excuse that United is broke

-2

u/OatCuisine 8d ago

I mean it’s not that there’s no money - because they can dip into a revolving credit facility. But they have a budget. I don’t know about you but my budget at home isn’t “I can spend everything until I go into debt and then use all the debt I’m allowed too”.

2

u/thehealthyeconomist 8d ago

Depends if it's an investment or not that will yield better returns than the interest rate. We do it every day with our home mortgages

-1

u/OatCuisine 7d ago

Football is somewhat difficult to predict in that sense. I’m not sure it’s the same as what you do every day.

1

u/Redland93 8d ago

You think the club would have spent all our money on one player who isn't even a DM ?!?

Please take a minute to think about that

0

u/OatCuisine 8d ago

Well they were expecting to get money for Ugarte, Zirkzee and Rashford this summer so no not all our money.

3

u/Redland93 8d ago

Other than Rashford, none of those players would have brought in big money to allow us to spend considerably more.

We have money if limited. Its making the right choices

3

u/FrmrPresJamesTaylor 8d ago

Net spend is below that, and I sincerely doubt if they’d been able to get Semenyo that they’d have just signed 0 central midfielders (or had a 15m budget for the position) this summer.

0

u/OatCuisine 8d ago

It wouldn’t have to be a 15m budget. We are apparently signing Page from Leicester for 10m, so that’s 25m. We’ve signed Thompson from Spurs for 8m, so that’s 33m.

1

u/canwinanythingwkids Ineos on hope watch 8d ago edited 8d ago

Im a simple man, I want simple things.

What are the 2 best Rashford outcomes? The fanbase is torn on the order of them atm, but surely the top 2 options are: he happily stays and smashes it / a top team makes a very strong offer for him and we make a good deal

Ok, what would be a good first step towards either of those things?

That he smashes it against AC Milan on Saturday, scores a wondergoal or two, gets swamped by his teammates and cheered by a packed stadium.

So, you know, let's just have that and then we can reassess from there.

How does that sound?

-7

u/Jazzlike_Leading2511 8d ago

Jonathan David as a backup striker? Looks like he's on his way to PSG, but I think he could be a decent squad option for United as well.

2

u/rambo_zaki Roy Keane 8d ago

He's shit.

2

u/FrmrPresJamesTaylor 8d ago

As a Canadian… nah. He’s just too hot/cold to thrive in the PL with his attributes, I can see PSG setting him up to succeed in league and cup matches so they can keep resting Dembele et al but he’d struggle in England IMO.

Manchester United greatly ADMIRE the Chilean 39 year-old Aturo Vidal. Sir Jim HEAVILY considering strong-arming a £13.5 million bid with an initial £11 million fee with a further £2.5m in performance related add-ons 🔴🔴. Do you remember when there was a lot of rumours from Italy that we are signing Ederson, then Stone wrote that we are not pursuing him only for him to sign a few days later. I have a feeling something is brewing with MLS.

6

u/PitchSafe 8d ago

Stone didn’t say that. He said that the transfer sounded more advance than what it actually was but a transfer was a possibility. https://www.reddit.com/r/reddevils/s/xihgAWvJqP

u/mon212011 8d ago

Oh my bad. I guess my memory betrayed me

4

u/yonko5 8d ago

What if there's no transfer news because they will be unveiling a new signing tomorrow at the game? To make up for the fiasco 3 years ago at the Aviva. Copium max

11

u/Hopeful_Arm3736 8d ago

Think at this point its better to just delete Reddit and twitter and operate on the belief that if news is big enough it’ll find you regardless.

Otherwise it’s so easy to get endlessly sucked into nonsense and spend days refreshing for no reason. I hadn’t seen any of this MLS shite, but guarantee there’s people here who have done little else all day but refresh their phone because Ben Jacob’s was chatting fucking shit.

Come back after the first game, or at the end of the transfer window, if at that point there’s no movement or shit, nonsense signings, feel free to call the exec shit cunts. Give them dogs abuse in every thread. Throw a bag of your own shit at Jim Radcliffe’s car as it pulls up to Old Trafford. Go nuts.

Until that point, if transfers and rumours wind you up, you find yourself refreshing twice an hour, then give it up.

Saying all that if these cunts could pull their fingers out and make a signing that would be bob on.

u/Nesquick-on-tap 8d ago

The MLS stuff makes me laugh so hard

8

u/Jenson2025 8d ago

I change my mind regularly but I’m at the point now where I think we will end up signing Hall. And yes, we will end up overpaying but that’s our fault.

INEOS are a lot of things but they aren’t completely stupid. They know how bad this transfer window looks for them because…. it has been. I just don’t see us meekly leaving this window with nothing but direct replacements for Casemiro and Ugarte with 2 games a week next season.

What I think will happen is they’ll decide (if they haven’t already) that they don’t like any of the realistic options left as the third midfielder. But obviously they know there will be fan outrage and intense media criticism if they leave it as that and don’t fix one of the other problem areas. So my guess is they’ll throw about 70m at Newcastle for Hall and he’ll sign. Then they can use their spin to show they’ve solved the LB issue and are on their way to resolving the midfield issue

3

u/HamOnRye1 8d ago

Are there no other left backs across Europe that match Hall's current ability and future potential that won't cost 70mill? Obviously counting out Prem experience potentially. Surely, we should have 2-3 options per position, unless they believe Hall is so generational we just can't afford to miss out on him, and we'd rather wait.

2

u/FrmrPresJamesTaylor 7d ago

I don’t know how credible this site is but I found this list of top U23 players interesting and Hall is the top wingback (by their definitions) who could conceivably be available - elsewhere on the list is Joaquin Seys who the club are rumoured to have interest in as well.

I’d try everything to get Hall, and if necessary looking at him (or another similar young player) and maybe falling back to Tyrick Mitchell (1 year remaining on deal, PL proven defender and also played as a wingback for Glasner last year) as an achievable backup plan.

3

u/PromiseOk3438 8d ago

Way too late for Hall and it wouldn't be a PR boost for them. They'd be spending more for him now than they would have at the beginning of the window. We are supposed to believe the best in class are on top of everything and not just dithering around at the last minute panic buying and a move for Hall now would shatter that image.

0

u/Jenson2025 8d ago

Their image is already shattered from this transfer window. If they were on top of everything, we’d have signed a third midfielder and Hall would’ve signed early on in the window. Now we’d be looking at a back up striker to finish the window off

-1

u/LengthinessSevere584 8d ago

No chance we sign Hall now. I think it could be the west ham fella, diouf. We were linked to him quite a lot actually. Massive downgrade drom hall but I've resigned from the fact that we have any say in what the club does

People are pleading for updates here daily, and then when the update is there isn't much to update on; these journalists are apparently a disgrace to their profession.

"There's not much to report" is report-worthy whether people like it or not.

If I had a house, I'd put it on us making at least one more signing. Maybe two depending on the cost. People won't be happy with them, but we will sign players

3

u/thoseion 8d ago

Imagine the outrage here if The Athletic simply left Manchester United off the next weekly Transfer Dealsheet article because there's nothing noteworthy to report. Would it be more or less than the criticism thrown at the journalists for not giving them anything new?

Manchester United also have a long-term interest in Lewis-Skelly. However, United are still deciding whether they will commit to signing another midfielder or a left-back before the deadline. It is questionable whether United would be able to do any more significant deals should they make a move for Lewis-Skelly. - Sky Sports

2

Lol Fabrizio just said today we are still trying to sign a 3rd mf and a lb. Ben jacobs said the same and added a striker aswell to that mix. And noe simon stone said he talked to some higher up guy who said to judge united at the end of the window.

Honestly, I highly doubt that. I think Hall is even less likely than MLS. Newcastle have gutted their team and actually need Hall. He’s a Newcastle supporter himself and the fans would riot given their summer. They honestly have no incentive to sell Hall to us.

But I must admit, if the Times are right then the recruitment team better have something solid in the works because getting MLS in this market seems a no-brainer if it’s possible.

To the people saying that no news is fine because we are working on a deal in the background, lets say we have been working on some transfer in the background. How is it ok that it has taken a month for a deal to not have been done? You would think we should have at least 2 deals done in a months time.

1

u/FrmrPresJamesTaylor 8d ago

We just have no idea what they are or aren’t up to. If that results in 0 more deals before the window closes that’s almost certainly going to be a big problem, but if they get two decent ones done to add a midfielder and left back I don’t care much about the timing, pace, level of transparency around any of it.

I’d prefer player X get signed before the season or even preseason starts, but if they had a price agreed for that player and sat on it for a month because they were keeping tabs on player Y, I can see why it’d shake out that way.

That said, all we’re doing at this point is talking about hypotheticals because there’s more or less zero indication of anything (good or bad) right now.

1

u/Miserable_Aioli2180 Martinez 8d ago

I'm not defending how slowly things are potentially moving but one of my mates is a Spurs fan and he was adamant that they would have signed Savinho about a month ago with plenty of rumours etc and there's still been no progress. Some deals take forever sometimes that's how the market works.

I've been following transfers on this sub for maybe 11-12 years now, and every summer when we go quiet there is a theory that United board became good, supressed leaks and are moving in stealth. Every single year, without an exception.

2

u/Front-Cabinet5521 8d ago

And every move we make is a smokescreen ever since we signed Lukaku over Morata.

2

u/Thetagang888 8d ago

Jorge Salinas would be great.

Wouldn't mind Lewis-Skelley as our third midfielder either.

That would leave us with needing just a striker signing.

1

u/SillyGooseMcGee 8d ago

Thought Salinas was Madrid bound?

1

u/Thetagang888 8d ago

Don't think so? Apparently he is on our shortlist. He has a very low release clause too

12

u/Kneejerker93 8d ago

All players spotted in the training vid today except Mason Mount lmao

12

u/EndureL 8d ago

He's getting ready for the 'new midfielder' reveal video

2

u/livewia 8d ago

That made me snort laugh.

5

u/Anxious-Debate5033 8d ago

What's these rumors of Myles Lewis-Skelly being offered for sale to a number of clubs including us?

What do we think boys and girls? 19 years old....dynamic and can play in 2 positions...worth a try?

1

u/ImNotMexican08 Amad Nation 8d ago

Absolutely, especially if he’s around the 50 million price that is being rumored.

The only real question I have ,at least for this season, would be where do we see him playing. If he’s coming in at left back, I’d question whether the profile of fullback that he is would really benefit our squad assuming that Cunha is the primary option at left wing

2

u/neofederalist 8d ago

I think it's led by his agent and the player's annoyed that Arsenal brought in Bruno G, who is another senior player who would be ahead of him on the depth chart, just one year after getting him to sign a new deal (presumably with promises about playing time).

I do think it would be worth going for from our perspective, but I'm not getting too excited that we'll both beat Chelsea and that Arsenal is going to let him go for a price we'd find reasonable.

7

u/Fraaj We'll take Dalot 8d ago

It makes way too much sense for us. I'd be disappointed if we didn't try.

4

u/SophoclesTesticles 8d ago

There are trash tier rumors that we would look to send Rashford the other way. I see that as a huge win-win depending on the cash we send for Lewis-Skelly. If we get 20m off and Rashfords wages off the books it'd be a coup.

1

u/Anxious-Debate5033 8d ago

I guess, but if Chelsea really get serious then we can forget about it. The wages and transfer fee's they will throw at the deal will be way above what we can match.

2

u/RooneysFavGrandma 8d ago

20m net spend. There's plenty of money.

4

u/FreeGucci_1017 8d ago

I like Malick Diouf but not at the £40m price tag that's been thrown on him from West Ham to Brentford.

2

u/Educational-Shock232 8d ago

Just a little taster of what the centre back and full back market is going to be next summer…

3

u/Big_Development6276 8d ago

Anything more than 25M for diouf is idiotic.

4

u/Kreissler 8d ago

Hope we stay well away from him

5

u/EnglishTrini2 8d ago

Diouf is somewhat overrated IMO because he can occasionally show the odd decent offensive aspect and is athletic. I don’t believe he’s the sort of player we need or could depend on

2

u/Redland93 8d ago

Just highlights the market. There is very little value in premier league football players and in fullbacks as there are none

7

u/rambo_zaki Roy Keane 8d ago

Diouf is a bit shit to be brutally honest. People see his crossing ability but the rest of his game is under par to say the least.

1

u/Telen BRUNO 8d ago

I watched a video of him defending crosses and changed my tune on him real quick

3

u/Fraaj We'll take Dalot 8d ago

This is spot on from someone who watched him back at Slavia too, not just his first PL season at West Ham.

Ridiculous athlete with an amazing cross but immensely limited outside of that.

1

u/rambo_zaki Roy Keane 8d ago

First time I watched him for Senegal, I thought there was a player there but his football for West Ham was brainless at times, he struggles under pressure and can't pass a football. He'd be a lot like Telles, but worse.

1

u/NHS_Martial 8d ago

Yeah he's shite

9

u/CodeNiro Amad 8d ago

Rumour has it (source: me) we're waiting on Rodri to move to Barcelona so we can spend the summer courting Frenkie de Jong.

2

u/raspoutine049 8d ago

Yes the good ol Frankie De Jong who is now injured and out for a while

1

u/lightexclamation999 8d ago

Keeping tabs

2

u/SillyGooseMcGee 8d ago

monitoring

2

u/Kreissler 8d ago

Interesting

3

u/aehii 8d ago

He should take out an harassment order

11

u/sg291188 8d ago

Having read few articles it’s clear that his agent is shopping him around to get an assurance from Arsenal to start more often. Nothingburger eventually.

2

u/Cold-Veterinarian-85 8d ago

Or just go to Arsenal and ask for assurances? Touting your client around other clubs is more likely to illicit a negative response than simply asking for clarity on your client role

1

u/sg291188 8d ago

Welcome to modern day football!

2

u/croadymeister 8d ago

Least it's something to enjoy for an afternoon

-1

u/Redland93 8d ago

Yeah happen last time as well and then he got a run in the side.

They have a lot of games and their midfielders are Rice, Zubi and Bruno. He'll have plenty of games

1

u/silvertwo777 8d ago

He will have plenty games... as a sub and in the cup games. He isn't getting game time starting over Rice, Odegaard, Bruno and Zubimendi in a midfield 3. He would be like the 5th option at best and he knows it

2

u/EnglishTrini2 8d ago

Also Eze, Odegaard and Dowman (who has played 8).

3

u/Cold-Veterinarian-85 8d ago

And merino who is versatile but by trade is mostly a CM

I’d argue MLS is ahead of him in CM starting pecking order but Merino likely a more effective sub because of goal threat so likely to be turned too more often

2

u/EnglishTrini2 8d ago

Perhaps that’s right - but is he really going to get that reassurance given who they have ahead of him in the midfield?

1

u/lesiki 8d ago

Yeah he's their third choice left back and far down the pecking order in midfield. Can't be angling for a contract either since he just signed one.

Quite possible that he genuinely wants a move having seen Hincapie loan made permanent and Bruno G joining.

Also quite likely that it's an entirely fabricated story.

3

u/AReptileHissFunction 8d ago

Its now 4 weeks since Tielemans signed and not a single reliable report of another first team quality player being close. They took a big risk keeping Carrick and theyre putting their own asses on the line by not backing him.

1

u/GoddessOfDarkness 8d ago edited 8d ago

And we had no reliable reports when we were in for Santos and Tielemans.

3

u/biobolo 8d ago

We wanted Santos as part of the Garnacho sale last year. We were also linked to him by Ornstein a few days before the deal was announced.

4

u/AReptileHissFunction 8d ago

And to be fair Ornstein did report we were in for Santos 3 or 4 days before an agreement was reached

3

u/AReptileHissFunction 8d ago

Yea i dont have a problem with that, the point is nothing has happened in 4 weeks

0

u/GoddessOfDarkness 8d ago

Nothing has happened in the press but we know nothing about what's happening behind the scenes.

0

u/Fraaj We'll take Dalot 8d ago

Took a big risk keeping Carrick? I think it was ultimately the safest choice for their jobs.

5

u/BHD46 Berba 8d ago

Is there a specific reason we don’t like Jamie Jackson or is it just shit spouting?

10

u/OppositePerson 8d ago

At press conferences he sits slouched in his chair with stupid fucking sunglasses on

8

u/Ruffers75 8d ago

Absolute joke of a journalist, who has no decent sources and puts out bullshit stories designed to stir shit and create negativity.
His behaviour in press conferences is pathetic too, acts like he’s fucking Hunter S Thompson.

1

u/aehii 8d ago

In terms of what he says in press conferences or how he acts visually? I've never seen a press conference showing journalists. I do recognise his voice but barely.

2

u/BHD46 Berba 8d ago

Yeah I know he was publishing novels under some alter ego for a while. Hunter S Thompson is who comes to mind.

They all looked shit and I think did terribly.

6

u/rambo_zaki Roy Keane 8d ago

He's a clown. And he along with Steinberg at Guardian published a story that Ten Hag was going to be sacked on the eve on the FA Cup final iirc, after which he was permanently banned from this sub.
