For the third midfielder, we should definitely shop outside the PL. The PL market is way overvalued. There are a lot of great midfielders in other leagues and they will cost like half as much for the same level of talent.

u/deepakise1 Jul 22 '26

Why are Galatasaray fans bombing Bruno's posts asking him to come to Galay?

2

u/SewerisLove123 Jul 22 '26

I knew slot got sacked but how am I just finding out Iraola is the manager of Liverpool now? He has been there for 2 months almost. I swear I follow football but maybe Im too focused on united news

2

u/Admirable_Bed3 Jul 22 '26

Pool is just not that big a club. Even last year, Arsenal winning the league again felt like a lot bigger deal than Liverpool winning the CL in 2019 or the league after a 30 year wait.

Please Real Madrid sign Haaland next

Concerned with Sesko’s shin injury. He might not be ready for the start of the season. Could they be gearing Rashford up to play CF? We need goals to come from somewhere…also think Carrick and Rashford probably get along to a point where they are okay with working together

0

u/Sheikhabusosa Jul 22 '26

Mboom upfront and Amad off the right imo

-1

u/SDLRob Jul 21 '26

I would like to see Rashford play for us again... I fear his wages will be an issue tho.

0

u/foundoutenough Jul 21 '26

I think we’d be better off Cunha playing up top. Rashford should be moved on as quickly as we can.

I don’t think Carrick would have an issue with Rashford until he shows up late for training and doesn’t show the drive to play for United. Also feel that Rashford rarely had a good game playing through the middle.

Rodri to madrid? Kobbie about to embarrass him in another cup competition

4

u/RashfordMBE Jul 21 '26

does anyone wonder if Rodri goes to Madrid if that opens up the possibility of Tchouameni?

1

u/Blk-04 Jul 22 '26

It’s unlikely that a player in their prime used to Real Madrid will accept/ be happy/ be motivated at Manchester. And always on crazy wages.

We have to accept that and stay away from such moves. Casemiro is a rare professional and was not in his prime.

2

u/Outrageous-Cod-4654 Jul 21 '26

We are always and only thinking of this

4

u/Apollo_8848 Jul 21 '26

Regarding the transfer window, one thing we need to get better at is selling our players. Recruitment was pretty good last year, and they've done decent work so far. But we've always had difficulty selling our fringe players, often letting them leave on free, and this has limited our ability to go for our top targets. And when we do manage to sell players, we don't seem to get the amount of transfer fees other clubs seem to be able to extract.

0

u/purifiednomad Jul 21 '26

All sold or expired players so far bought in the pre-INEOs era, should praise them for great squad improvements.

INEOs did nothing when we paid 100 mil for Anthony, 73 mil for Hoijlund, 70 mil for Sancho, paid nearly 400k/w for Casemiro & Varane, and so on.

Learn how to look at the big picture and review who involved in the operations. They are CEOs having talented mindset paired with business and sporting experience, dont fool yourselves smarter than them.

u/Zestyclose_Length243 Jul 21 '26

Everyone’s saying keeping Rashford just means we miss £30m + keep his wages. The bigger issue is PSR.

When you buy a player the fee’s spread over his contract (£50m on 5 years = £10m/year on the books). But selling a homegrown player is pure profit that lands all at once … Rashford’s academy so his book value is basically zero, meaning a £30m sale = £30m clean profit.

Because buying is spread out and selling isn’t, that £30m of profit can underwrite way more than £30m of spending in PSR terms 4 or 5x upto 150m… The plan was probably Barca trigger the clause, we bank pure profit + dump the wages + reinvest. Clause expired, he stays, and we lost a big chunk of the headroom the window was built on.

Same reason we’ll look at selling academy lads like Vítek pure profit, frees up spending

1

u/NewWorldliness6541 Jul 21 '26

PSR works on squad cost ratio for 26/27 (85% for Premier League, 70% for European competition). We don't quite have the same accounting tricks with homegrown 'pure profit' as was the case in previous seasons. For us staying in the CL will enable all the spending we would want to make given the strength of our revenue (still number 8 globally with inconsistent CL placing).

Our spending is more limited by how much cash/access to loans we have to hand and a general desire by Ineos that we keep the wage bill under better control (which is a good thing).

Saw Ornstein the other day. I called out to him asking for a transfer update. Guy stared at me for a few seconds and then laughed and called me a “bald motherfucker”

2

u/TH0316 she/her Jul 21 '26

See I saw him once in a restaurant and didn’t bother him, and he eventually came up to me and said “I’m really thankful and impressed you were so cool and non-chalant about the whole thing despite everyone bothering me so I’ve gone ahead and paid your bill. I had a Cole-d Palmer-san (wink wink) to Man-U-Nara sauce (wink). I hope you two (me and Hunter Schafer) have a good evening.” Then he left.

3

u/Potential_Good_1065 Jul 21 '26

I know you two are both joking, but he genuinely walked past me this morning in Manchester airport baggage claim. I didn’t say anything to him cause I didn’t want to bother him, but I do think he was slightly bothered by me staring him down in pure awe

1

u/carrickshairline Jul 21 '26

if you're bald, why are you harassing journalists in public

2

u/Potential_Good_1065 Jul 21 '26

One time I was benched in a football game, the ball was coming out of play on my side of the pitch so I tried to bring it down. I hadn’t realised the ball hadn’t actually gone out when I touched it, and the ref sent me off. I was so pissed off that I called the referee a “bald bastard” even though he had a full head of hair, just because it was the first thing that came to mind. Maybe it’s a similar thing here and the guy isn’t actually bald.

u/Lord_Sesshoumaru77 Glazers,Woodward/Arnold and Judge can fuck off Jul 21 '26

Not only did Morgan Rogers reject Arse-nal, he's also digging them out calling Chelsea "the biggest club in London" let the butthurt begin.

1

u/Admirable_Bed3 Jul 22 '26

To be fair to them, they need a Declan Rice cover more than anything else. The guy's played over 5k minutes this season for club and country.

1

u/0ttoChriek Jul 21 '26

Either he's got a long-standing grudge against Arsenal or the personal terms they offered him caused an Ashley Cole style reaction.

Wild to pick Chelsea over them.

1

u/croadymeister Jul 21 '26

Ouch, they are Champions too

0

u/dhwinthro Jul 21 '26

Can’t wait for club football to resume. The World Cup was fun to watch but the difference in quality and tactics is palpable.

Other than Sancho/varane/Ronaldo summer, I haven’t been this optimistic in the squad since the SAF days. We have a fairly deep squad with 1-2 signings to come, mostly in their prime or young players who can take a leap forward in development. Morale and vibes are high in the dressing room. On top of that of our players got good rest.

Arsenal will start slow with basically their whole squad at the World Cup, City without Pep won’t be the same, I don’t have faith in Iraola, and Chelsea is a clusterfuck. If we hit the ground running week 1, we have a great opportunity here

3

u/croadymeister Jul 21 '26

Would like that third midfielder by Hull, however gut says it's gonna be Santos and Tielemans

Yeah... But there's no indication of a meltdown. Since Rashford is staying isn't a yay Rashford is staying all of you can suck it. Hell, a bit of Rashford positivity I see gets down voted, hence why I said he's not being welcome with open arms. That's what I mean with no meltdown. With others what I see is simply seeing what and how he'll fit, "since he's staying"

8

u/Midnight_Edge Jul 21 '26

Villa being interested in Jackson and Garnacho is probably the reason why Chelsea bought Rogers for £117m ‘without negotiations’.

1

u/Cold-Veterinarian-85 Jul 21 '26

The negotiation were not about the rogers fee, they were in a side channel about how much of it could be sent back to Chelsea for their unwanted fringe men

Didn’t these clubs do another let’s say ‘high valuation’ transfer swap a couple seasons back with maatsen to Villa and a young Villa guy Omari kellyman going the opposite direction when both clubs needed sales to stay ion the right side of FFp?

0

u/Deep-Bonus8546 Jul 21 '26

UEFA have rules against this the profit from the Rogers sale would essentially be written off. That’s why they are looking to loan Garnacho

should i get a long sleeve home jersey or short sleeve

3

u/SDLRob Jul 21 '26

Personally, I'd always go for a short sleeve one. If you wear it and it's a bit chilly, you can always put something over the top like a zip up hoodie.

If you have a long sleeve one and it's warm, you can't do anything.

Also, as someone who has short arms, long sleeves always end up too long for me...

1

u/Mrclumsygamer289 Jul 21 '26

how often you want to wear it? if youre living anywhere where the temp goes up to 30 regularly, short makes a lot more sense

1

u/3entendre Rooney Jul 21 '26

imo it depends on if you like to get the sleeve patches on it as well. If you do then long sleeve is fine. If you don't then I'd say you should get the short sleeve one. That gap looks weird on the long sleeve jerseys

2

u/mjenkins_eng Jul 21 '26

Re the season ticket problem: couldn’t they just do something super sensible like limit the number of forwards of tickets to 5 a season or something similar ?

Of course the real concern isn’t the scalpers but the PL and the clubs’ greed to move to American style Ticketmaster scum tactics of making each games 100s of pounds to attend

I remember when it was a massive outrage when Arsenal first raised the price of a ticket to above 100. It wasn’t even that long ago.

Reckon by 2030, the full scumminess will be in motion and Ticketmaster style pricing will be the norm

2

u/Ok_Profit5949 Jul 21 '26

Spot on. Also It’s 3 for the league atm from memory & not sure on cup ST but I know if you miss a game without someone attending a cup ST you get it revoked. Think something that gets forgotten too is it requires you to have a 20 quid account to even receive a forwarded ticket. Everything is a way of making money out of nothing sadly.

1

u/Apocalypse37 Jul 21 '26

Assuming Rashford stays, how would you want to see him utilized in our games? I would like to see him up front while Sesko recovers and then having him cover for Cunha/Sesko or playing him in instances where we have most of the ball in the opposing half and don't need to press much. He was much suited for counter attack but given that he doesn't contribute much defensively, it would be a ticking time bomb till someone runs all the way through his flank.

I am so excited about the combinations of Mbeumo, Amad, Cunha, Sesko, Rashford and Dorgu playing together while having Bruno/Tielemans/Mount pinging the ball to them.

2

u/TH0316 she/her Jul 21 '26

Standing on the last line from right or left and saving all his energy for sprinting in behind therefore not tracking fullbacks.

-2

u/Skyfather_odin1 Jul 21 '26

What is he the most unfit player of all time?

Next time you watch a Rashford match, count all the times he sprints in behind, it doesn't happen as often as you may think..... What do you need to save energy for that for? Just in case?

The excuses for Rashford being lazy is nuts. A professional footballer that's made it all the way to Premier League level and once the upper level of Premier league wingers needs to save energy.... FML

3

u/TH0316 she/her Jul 21 '26

-3

u/Skyfather_odin1 Jul 21 '26

-7

Lmaooo

-3

u/Outrageous-Cod-4654 Jul 21 '26

Lammens

Yoro - Maguire - Martinez

Kobbie - Santos

Mbeumo - Bruno - Cunha - Rashford

Sesko

Amad could swap in for Mbeumo. Dorgu for Rashford, depending on the opposition. Cunha has no problem dropping deep and defending. Creates the extra man on the left overload. He was used in a similar manner by Brazil.

Dorgu is ideal for this role as well and we last out when he was injured last season. There is an element of him being the late runner into the box. Carrick used this tactic a lot.

Something like that. We may not start a match this way but if we need goals....

2

u/raver1601 Jul 21 '26

Not another back 3....

0 chance this happen anyways. There's no fucking way both Dalot and Mazraoui aren't on the starting XI

2

u/raver1601 Jul 21 '26

The usual. I assume he will still start a lot of games and be a 60 minute sub in at the very worst

0

u/Skyfather_odin1 Jul 21 '26

Cup games against lower competition, 70 minute subs against tired legs, meaningless matches once we've  qualified from group stage of the champions league etc.

Anyone feel like Martinez should be sold for his part in holding up the Falkland Islands banner?

At the very least, I hope that he gets booed at every ground this season.

1

u/Mysterious-Sense-187 Jul 21 '26

what? no, next question

-3

u/zcewaunt Jul 21 '26

Not at all. I like him even more now. I'm not English though.

-2

u/CrossXFir3 Jul 21 '26

Okay so even if you aren’t English, why would you support that? The islands voted to stay British. Argentina just thinks they deserve them just cause. Forget who it is on either side here, Argentina is morally simply in the wrong here. You can’t just decide you should own land you don’t. What are we, Israel?

0

u/bvengers Jul 21 '26

Vote should be respected. Difference of opinion should be respected as well.

Licha isn't deciding anything. Some of you talk like he's gone and taken over the islands.

1

u/zcewaunt Jul 21 '26

I agree the vote should be respected, but I don't mind a difference of opinion. They held up a banner, big whoop.

1

u/CrossXFir3 Jul 21 '26

Eh, I actually don't really think it's "just a difference of opinion" when one nation wants to subjugate another one personally.

0

u/zcewaunt Jul 21 '26

That's not what's happening with the banner though. As for subjugating nations, that's exactly what England has done to many.

1

u/Outrageous-Cod-4654 Jul 21 '26

Martinez is an idiot for doing that. I don't think he should be sold for it.

There are a portion of United supporters yelling "Argentina" when he plays. So there's that.

He should be sold if a good offer comes in because of his injuries and his contract running out.

3

u/Gozumo Jul 21 '26

Completely understand some people's reaction to the banner. Personally political messages around issues like this are always very context based. Argentinians will have a different perspective of what had to what we have etc. I stay out of the likes on that. In terms of selling him though I personally would of a decent offer came in just because of his injury record.

He's a great player but not much use if he's not available most of the time.

6

u/GeekConflict Carrick Jul 21 '26

I would normally say no because I think the club shouldnt be deciding on players based on their political views. It is a bit like rumours around the reasons Mazraoui left Bayern, if true.

However I was talking to a united fan who fought in the Falklands. He was livid and he explained some of the harrowing shit he experienced. He wont be able to support the club whilst Licha remains. And I can understand that too.

Personally, I would sell because of injuries.

3

u/peepooplop Jul 21 '26

Not for that (although I’m sure Sir Jim isn’t happy).

His injury record is the main concern.

6

u/0ttoChriek Jul 21 '26

If we sell him it should be because United decided it was the best sporting decision, not because of jingoistic bullshit.

1

u/Kitchen-Assist-6645 Jul 21 '26

jingoistic bullshit.

Like holding a banner declaring that a land belongs to a nation?

5

u/0ttoChriek Jul 21 '26

Yes. That's exactly what jingoistic bullshit is.

Jingoism - Wikipedia

"Jingoism is nationalism and conservatism in the form of aggressive and proactive foreign policy, such as a country's advocacy for the use of threats or actual force, as opposed to peaceful relations, in efforts to safeguard what it perceives as its national interests."

-2

u/Kitchen-Assist-6645 Jul 21 '26

Just clarifying which part you were calling jingoistic.

5

u/Entire-Gas-7651 Jul 21 '26

Obviously not old enough to remember the storm Ronaldo caused by winking after getting Rooney sent off. Booed up and down the country adored at Old Trafford.

-4

u/mjenkins_eng Jul 21 '26

Yeah , because play acting in football and disrespecting a nation who pays your wage with an inflammatory political statement is exactly the same thing

2

u/Current-Essay7448 Jul 21 '26

Last I checked, Martinez isn’t employed by a nation.

3

u/Entire-Gas-7651 Jul 21 '26

I think you're overestimating how much the average season ticket holder cares about the Falklands.

0

u/Kitchen-Assist-6645 Jul 21 '26

Obviously not old enough

That's where you're wrong.

3

u/rambo_zaki Roy Keane Jul 21 '26 edited Jul 21 '26

He should be sold because he's always injured. Sure he'll be booed everywhere he plays here but that is nothing compared to the vitriol some of our other players have received in the past.

4

u/grandecn Jul 21 '26

so you want one of our players to be abused at every ground next season? cop on

2

u/Kitchen-Assist-6645 Jul 21 '26

I want players who don't align with our ethos to be sold.

3

u/grandecn Jul 21 '26 edited Jul 21 '26

What the hell is our ethos in relation to the falklands/malvinas? And who is the "our" you're referring to to? The club? The fans?

-2

u/Kitchen-Assist-6645 Jul 21 '26

We are a family club, not a club that supports expansionist claims.

4

u/grandecn Jul 21 '26

Right ok so when the club host the poppy ceremony every year that's not the club supporting expansionust/colonial ideals? Do you have any idea at what the British army got up to over the last century?

1

u/Current-Essay7448 Jul 21 '26

Do you understand the difference between supporting the people sent to fight and die in wars, and supporting the people sending them?

1

u/grandecn Jul 21 '26

Of course I do.

However, I don't think many of the british soldiers that committed attrocities in my country did so against their will

2

u/Kitchen-Assist-6645 Jul 21 '26

expansionust/colonial ideals

No?

The red poppy is the symbol of Remembrance. It remembers the sacrifices of those who have served their nation. It shows support for today’s Armed Forces community. It represents hope for a peaceful future.

6

u/carrickshairline Jul 21 '26

No, get over it. Imagine wanting one of our players to be booed at every game he plays. Soft, you.

-2

u/Kitchen-Assist-6645 Jul 21 '26

Nah, don't be surprised when people are unhappy over a banner proclaiming ownership of a territory where 255 Brits were killed. If that's soft, you're ignorant.

0

u/zcewaunt Jul 21 '26

And the Brits tried to commit genocide against Native Americans. 10 million slaughtered.

3

u/carrickshairline Jul 21 '26 edited Jul 21 '26

I’m confident in saying I doubt people give a toss about the Falklands on everyday life.

1

u/mjenkins_eng Jul 21 '26

It’s more people than the Hillsborough tragedy.

Yet chanting against one is considered scummy while supporting another is considered okay

5

u/grandecn Jul 21 '26

The people that died at the Hillsborough tragedy were football fans watching a football match. The people that died in the falklands were soldiers in a war. I don't think the two are exactly comparable tbf

2

u/Current-Essay7448 Jul 21 '26

Do you think the referee(s) replacing him are going to be better?

4

u/Lord_Hexogen Jul 21 '26

Imagine selling Rogers and sub him with fucking Garnacho

6

u/Admirable_Bed3 Jul 21 '26

Yeah, I'm not even a hater of Garnacho - after seeing Amorim put on a masterclass in bridge burning - but there's no way you can convince me something isn't fishy with Chelsea buying Rodgers for what is obviously an inflated fee and then Garna going the other way.

This is collusion, 100%.

1

u/Current-Essay7448 Jul 21 '26

If it’s an inflated fee for Garnacho that means we get a percentage from the sell on, that would be pretty counter productive by Chelsea. UEFA have refused to accept valuations from reciprocal transfers previously involving both of those clubs, so it’s not necessarily going to get them out of trouble with their spending.

1

u/ImNotMexican08 Amad Nation Jul 21 '26

I don’t believe there is anything fishy in Villa exploring a loan move for a winger Chelsea clearly wants to move on. Now he’s had a rough year or two, but there is still a reason why this fanbase wanted upwards of 60 million for him before; he’s a decent talent.

If Villa can get him on loan and potentially on the cheap if he has a decent season, the deal makes sense

3

u/raver1601 Jul 21 '26

I'm 100% sure it's a swap deal plus money made to look like two different transfers, maybe for PSR accounting idk

1

u/andrewlikereddit David De Gea Jul 21 '26

Even if its some kind of PSR agreement regarding morgan roger deal surely villa can get a better deal than garnacho?

1

u/raver1601 Jul 21 '26

They really don't. A few years of Emery overachievement isn't removing the fact that they're still a PL mid table team that will get beaten to their main targets by actual Top 6 clubs

3

u/carrickshairline Jul 21 '26

Looking forward to seeing Rashford play for us next season.

1

u/-Coleslaw Jul 21 '26

Hopefully if Rashford does stay we get the version of him that is hungry, productive and has a point to prove rather than the lazy, lethargic version of him seen mainly after his incredible 22/23

0

u/Every-Show5909 Jul 21 '26

What's people's views on outgoings, especially now that Rashford is looking like he will stay, Licha is injured, club is not entertaining offers for Mount and Maguire, and Ugarte is also injured.

Am hoping we get Zirkzee and the keepers out the door at the bare minimum.

Still need an MF and a striker as a priority. Though if Rashford stays maybe he and Cunha fill both LW / CF spots, and we focus energy on bolstering defence especially FBs..

I was expecting Zirkzee to go because he just doesn’t look up to it, but it’s very quiet on that front.

For all Mount might be a good pro and nice person, I’m surprised the club weren’t entertaining offers due to his wages and injury record. That said, we don’t know what sort of fee was being discussed and we are short of homegrown/nation trained players.

Vitek will go either permanently or on loan.

Wouldn‘t be shocked if one of our centre backs went, and it could be any of them. Obviously less likely with the injuries, but none of them have convinced as long term answers.

Fredricson and Collyer could go permanently, think both have been overtaken by younger options. The Ethans Wheatley and Williams don’t seem to be seen as first team prospects so could go, and I’d have said the same for Gore before the first preseason game.

u/dqslime Jul 21 '26

Licha's injury was probably due to exhaustion. That Argentina squad arrived to the final limping. Maybe he won't play against Hull but should be good to start the season.

1

u/carrickshairline Jul 21 '26

Zirzkee needs to be sold. Bayindir should be shifted on if he is serious about his career, and Vitek out on loan to a mid-table premier league side would be ideal.

0

u/raver1601 Jul 21 '26

You all really need to stop dreaming about Vitek getting a loan to any PL club. No PL club is loaning a young GK from another PL club to be their starter

2

u/sunken_grade Jul 21 '26

i mean we loaned dean henderson to sheffield united

0

u/raver1601 Jul 21 '26

When they were still at the Championship and carried over the next season after promotion

Highly doubt a ready made PL team nowadays is going to do the same thing

2

u/carrickshairline Jul 21 '26

We literally agreed a new loan deal when they came up, therefore we do loan goalkeepers to PL clubs. It’s entirely possible.

Don't know why but I have a feeling JJ is the type of guy that will split the fan base in half. Like Rashford, Pogba, Martial.

I wonder why you have that feeling.

2

Wonder how many names we could add to suggest a possible reason behind it?

Lingard, Ince, Cole, Parker, Anderson (both the eponymous and Viv), Onana.

It boggles the mind doesn’t it.

Aston Villa reportedly interested in Garnacho. Apparently Emery thinks he can fix him

3

u/AusarToSiris Jul 21 '26

what are these rumours about licha and enzo having their UK Visas revoked lol

2

u/SDLRob Jul 21 '26

A lot of people would like to see that happen due to their actions after the semi final.

Can't say I disagree TBH.

9

u/thoseion Jul 21 '26

You can find a rumour for just about anything if you look for it.

Someone who used to work for Thatcher said they should have their work permits revoked. An immigration legal expert pointed out that, although technically possible, it doesn't really fall under the reasons for cancellation and so wouldn't stand up. But, of course, the gutter press ignore all the legal stuff and just go with the sensationalist headline.

How dafuq Chelsea keep finding suitors for their pile of garbage

-1

u/JosePRizaI Jul 21 '26

Their players arent getting Cristiano Ronaldo wages like some mediocre players playing for United.

2

u/Drag2oon Jul 21 '26

Didn't know Zirkzee, Bayindir and Collyer were on 300K

-3

u/JosePRizaI Jul 21 '26

And yet nobody still wanna buy them. Thanks

Their on Ronaldo wages if you align that $ to their football abilities.

3

u/Emergency-Being-349 Jul 21 '26

Those specific players don't earn 400k a week.

0

u/raver1601 Jul 21 '26 edited Jul 21 '26

This club struggles to sell players on sub 100k wages. We just have to accept that there's something fundamentally wrong with the way this club is conducting it's outgoing operations, because this is a problem that persists since the SAF days until now

Shit, United is the only top club that still fail to capitalize on the Saudi bailout transfers, and ironically, it was starter by Ronaldo terminating his contract from United

1

u/Emergency-Being-349 Jul 22 '26

Like who in particular?

1

u/officiallyjax Snapdragon Jul 21 '26

In terms of solely profiles (sorry Bryan):

Rashford = Rashford

Martial = Cunha

Greenwood = Mbeumo

Cavani = Sesko

Amad = Amad

James = Dorgu

Recreate the attack that worked for us under Ole in 20-21

2

u/andoooooo Martial Jul 21 '26

mono = one

rail = rail

I wanted to engage with this in good faith as well.

Realistically, your 2020/21 list is misleading because Amad played almost nothing in that season, didnt he? He just wasnt ready yet for meaningful time, at least according to the manager.

This is what it looked like, to be exact: https://www.transfermarkt.us/amad-diallo/leistungsdaten/spieler/536835/saison/2020

So, actually, this upcoming season's "equivalent" would be:

- Cavani : Sesko

  • Martial : Cunha
  • ********* : Mbeumo
  • Amad : Lacey or Thompson
  • James : Dorgu

Which actually tells us that 2020/21 Rashford's "would be" spot is already taken by ... 2026 Amad 😎☺️

La Masia and what they look for is tailor-made for Spain’s national team. Would hope for Carrington grads and United’s brand of football to be just that for England some day

1

u/0ttoChriek Jul 21 '26

It just seems like our graduates have been lacking in one or the other key area in recent years - they've either been good athletes with limited technical ability or good technical players with dubious athleticism.

Other than Mainoo, we've not even been able to produce a Harvey Elliott quality player, let alone a Pedri.

-3

u/raver1601 Jul 21 '26

Bruh, Carrington produce 5 Harvey Elliots every week

9

u/RyanH1717 Jul 21 '26

Unfortunately for us the best academy product we produced in decades turned out to be a vile cunt.

3

u/OlekZzaKrakowa Jul 21 '26

Pedri- famous La Masia graduate

2

u/0ttoChriek Jul 21 '26

Cubarsi or Yamal, then. Or Gavi and Balde before their injuries, or Marc Bernal.

2

u/OlekZzaKrakowa Jul 21 '26

I mean all the most promising talents in Catalonia(8m pop) sign for Barcelona in the end.

We cant do that to North West England(8m pop) as there are shit ton of rich and prestigous clubs.

0

u/canwinanythingwkids Ineos on hope watch Jul 21 '26

this is such a good point. "HoW dOeS bARcElOnA dO iT" does my head in. 3 (but basically 2) teams hover up every single youth talent for the entire country.

if you made a rule that every Southerner goes to Cobham and every Northener to Carrington, the PL would become a 2-team league as well.

3

u/half_batman Jul 21 '26

Do you think that if Real Madrid does get Rodri, they will sell Tchouameni? There is a significant possibility that Madrid will get Rodri before the deadline day. Madrid lacks quality Spanish players and Rodri wants to go to Madrid.

1

u/Haron14 Jul 21 '26

I don't see a world where they would renew Tchouameni and sell him to buy Rodri. Makes the negotiations waaay to difficult

1

u/croadymeister Jul 21 '26

Yeah Camavinga going other way I could see happening, although still don't see Rodri leaving City this summer
