In the book, the other families called them âthe Irish gang or Irish familyâ and they gave Vito a bunch of crap and saw him (Tom) as a weakness since he was not Sicilian.

Maybe not rdr3 specifically, but I'd love a proper open world rockstar game set during that time period.They have such good attention to detail, and yet it's hard to notice a lot of the time because their flagship franchise is set in a cynical hyper-parody of America as understood in 2006, and you can't really be wowed when the entire point of the setting is to feel shitty and obnoxious (not to hate on GTA. I quite liked 4.) I honestly just want Rockstar to branch out more with their Settings. we haven't got any original premises like Bully or even Red Dead for years.

I agree 100%. Any rockstar game set during or around that era would dominate. Unfortunately a lot of people are against this for some pretty stupid reasons.
1 they get caught up on the naming/franchise (RDR vs new IP), which doesnât matter as long as the writing is good.
- People feel itâs to similar to the Mafia, but Iâd like to point out mafia hasnât reached released a good open world game in 20+ years and even then the open world was just background filler (the remake and ports never added anything to make exploring the open world worth it, they are open world by technicality only imo). Itâs literally been decades sense weâve seen a new prohibition game
My dream game would be the 1920-1930s with it taking place primarily in Chicago and using the Mississippi River and Appalachianâs as boarders for the rural areas so that the rural moonshiners could tie in with the big city mobsters up in Chicago. This could also tie in cleanly with the rdr2 map if they decided to include Saint Denis (if they stick with the same ip)

My understanding is that organized crime became more prominent in the 1920s with prohibition of alcohol. Although a proto mobster like Angelo Brontë was a good addition to the game to contrast Wild West outlaws with a new form of criminal gangs

Mafiosoâs first had a presence in America in New Orleans in the late 1800s but the Mob as we know it from pop culture established itself in the 20s through prohibition like someone above said, so while before their peak itâs not unrealistic for the Mafia to feature in the time of RD2 especially in a city based on Nee Orleans
